The Test of Patience and Perseverance

via Daily Prompt: Test

The word “test” can be thought of in so many contexts. Here are my thoughts on test as I feel they relate to my current journey.

I started this blog as one of my assignments when I was back in school for Web Design. So this was one of my tests in learning to customize a template.

I didn’t post on a regular basis until just this past August. I have been testing different content on my blog to see what people are most interested in. I feel my patience has been tested in the time and dedication it takes in learning how to connect with other bloggers and in getting a new blog introduced out there in blogging world. (You mean I can’t have immediate over night success!)

The main purpose of my blog is to bring awareness to all the animal cruelty there is, to encourage others to use their voice for animals, and in changing laws.

I have spent a lot of time over the years reading, watching videos, and educating myself on various topics that have to do with animal cruelty. In doing this, my emotional strength has certainly been tested. I actually feel as I am getting older, (maybe it has nothing do with age, then again maybe it does and its hormones ☺), it has become much harder for me to read articles on animal cruelty. I am not passing the test of emotional strength anymore. I become a blubbering mess, and then I get extremely angry with the person who hurt the animal, and then I go into a dark place where I think about how so many animals are suffering out there.

I come to a point where I realize staying in that dark place isn’t going to do the animals or me any good. So, I have to muster up the emotional strength to continue on. Writing on my blog has definitely been a release for me. It helps me get out all those thoughts and emotions.

Life, in general, is a test. With all of the different things that can bring us down on a daily basis, our perseverance, strength, and patience is tested.

We all have our different struggles and our different tests. In the end, we all want the same thing; to get through the test and to be happy!

Well looky here…I happen to have a video you can watch of some animals feeling “happy” to the tune of Pharrell Williams song “Happy.” It also happens to be from an organization called “Save Elephants.”

Turn up the volume, stand up, and dance along with these happy animals! (Your dancing skills will not be tested)

I love how they end the video with the words “All living creatures can live HAPPY together” and actually that is how God intended it to be.

Great post. We all go through that cycle of emotions again and again and it’s so important that we keep picking ourselves up, cheering ourselves up, so that we can do something positive and productive for the animals. Keep up the good work 🙂
