I didn’t plan on doing a post today, but with all of the negativity going on in the United States right now over the election, I thought this picture I found on Facebook had a great message.
Not all of us agree on who should or shouldn’t be President, but please remember to still be kind. We are all entitled to our own opinions, that is what makes us “individuals.” Don’t follow the crowd, think for yourself, and be kind!
Preach it girl!

Better to be KIND than Right.
If only everyone practiced KINDNESS, nobody would be suffering in this world.

I believe we can learn something from everyone we meet, online or off. That’s where being open-minded comes in. That’s also where putting one’s self in another person’s shoes comes in. If you can do this, you can see it from their perspective. That’s hard for many people to do. It’s almost like you taking the time to at least look at a person’s point of view says something weak about you. A person feels offended and put upon. Then uh oh…lashing out seems to be the only avenue. Boo hiss! When done online, it shifts the attention from the original poster, to the person who feels if they don’t say something, they will be less than. I can listen to other people’s opinions, and still maintain my own sense of individuality. Plus, I can also learn something, if for no other reason than to have something new and different to consider the possibility of. My beloved Mother always used to say: “There’s more than one way to skin a catfish.” Another point of view may be “the other” option one needs.

Great points, thank you! I agree with you that we should be open to listening to other people’s opinions. WE are not always right. We can have our opinions, but still be respectful enough to hear other people’s, and sometimes agree to disagree, and move on.

Hello, LeeAnn. I wrote a poem which was inspired by you and your blog (I hope you don’t mind I named it Animals Are Feelings Beings Too) and here is a link, please check it out and tell me what you think! https://inkgirlandwords.wordpress.com/2016/11/11/animals-are-feelings-beings-too/ This is an issue I feel strongly about and I hope I will be able to write more poems on it.
