Different Views, But Mine Can’t Be Wrong

Why I Am So Passionate About Helping Animals & Spreading The Word

Eye rolls, laughs, arguments, and comments; I’ve experienced them all as an animal advocate.

Are animal lovers rare? How would you define an animal lover? Can you be an animal lover and not get involved with animal welfare issues?

My opinion is animal lovers are not necessarily rare. Most people love them and have a pet in their family; a dog, cat, bird, or hamster maybe. I think most people are just simply unaware of the cruelty going on out there.

But there is another side, there are those who wouldn’t harm animals, but see them as “just animals.” “Just animals!” Because they are not the same as us, does not mean they have any less right to be here and to be treated with respect. Animals feel pain if you hit them, they bleed if they are hurt, they need food & water to survive, they get happy, sad, scared, stressed, & sick. I’m not seeing a lot of basic need differences.

I don’t feel a lot of support for what I do from those around me. I feel they think of me as one of “those” people. No, I am not going to blow up an animal lab. I am, however, going to spread the word on how there are alternatives for safety testing without using animals. How factory farms are extremely cruel to the animals in their care. How elephants are beaten into submission to perform in circuses and to give rides at Renaissance Festivals. How every day people are hanging dogs, drowning puppies & kittens, throwing dogs off roofs, & beating pitbulls so they will fight. How dogs are chained in backyards. How calves are kept in tiny spaces where they can’t move around so they don’t develop muscles (this is veal). How cages are being power washed with dogs still in them at puppy mills. I am going to spread the word on how there is much more & much worse things going on besides what I have listed.

So…why I choose to help animals and why I am so passionate about it is because, as you can see, there are way too many people hurting them!

People may think I’m weird, but I think they are for not seeing that animals need us. It is our responsibility to be their voice as stewards of them. Proverbs 12:10 “A righteous man cares for the needs of his animals.”

Animals may be different than us, but not less worthy.

I agree with you, we need to advocate for the animals in best way, as we are able to. I don’t need religion here, only humanity which is sad to see a lack of, when some souls haven’t learned, that all of us are born with the right to a fair life, no matter humans or animals.

Cruelty starts with humans. If humans are cruel to one another or does know how to love ones self, it passed on. Taking care of one animal at a time makes a big difference.
