Why I Am A Vegetarian

You probably think, well of course, she doesn’t eat meat, she’s a huge animal lover and advocate. I suppose it’s true that’s why I have never been a big meat fan, but I have actually eaten it most of my life. But for as long as I can remember, half way through every meal, I would  stop eating the meat portion of the meal. Meat itself is gross to me…the way it looks, blood, veins, and bones, oh yuk! Then when I think about the fact that it is an animal, I am done!

So, I’ve never really liked meat, but then I started learning about slaughterhouses and factory farms. OK, now I had another reason I could not eat an animal, at least not from those who do not care for them in a humane manner.

It is a personal decision whether someone eats meat or not. I do not judge anyone about this. I do, however, want to encourage you to be brave and watch the following video called “Eating Mercifully.” It is a real eye opener and it is SO important to know where your food is coming from, for health benefits and humane reasons.

Aren’t we always suppose to be advancing as a society? How is that we are treating farm animals worse then ever?

Animals deserve better. They have every right to live out their lives free of pain, abuse, & fear.

Take the time to consider where your meat comes from. Consider getting it from a local farmer where animals are able to move about freely, their needs are taken care of, and they are treated humanely.

I will end this post with a “happy” video. I think you will enjoy watching this goat farmer breaking out in dance while cleaning up the barn. The man in the video lived in New York working as a flight attendant, a translator and a standup comedian before getting a degree in clinical psychology. He felt the country calling him and made the leap to farmer. You can read more about his story here.

I went vegetarian before going vegan feeling exactly tge way you do. Of course everyone around me thought I was foolish and couldn’t understand! When I learned how they torture cows and their babies in the dairy industry I stopped esting cheese and drinking milk. Then I later found out the torture of the egg industry and how they grind up baby male chicks alive, and the dog meat industry and on and on and that was it I knew my heart was vegan. Before that I hadn’t really understood what veganism was, not really, but once that connection is made you can’t go back. The health benefits came later and were unexpected, even if they hadn’t come I would still be vegan for the animals. Health and environment are major added pluses but not what fuels me, it’s the animals, aleays the animals.

It’s disgusting how they treat animals! It’s amazing to me that people don’t understand. I feel that way too. I feel people just don’t want to take the time to consider what animals are going through and I find that very sad and frustrating. I also think people think that is what animals were intended for, so they don’t find it important. Even if they were intended for food, (which I don’t believe was God’s plan, the world is in the state it is in because of the fall) the way they are treated is not acceptable!

You’re so right, throughout the whole Bible there is only one text where God mandates our diet Genesis 1:29-30 where he not only made man herbivores but also all animals including those we now know today to be carnivores. All reference to diet after sin took over the whole world was God “allowing” not “mandating” that man eat meat. Due to the degradation reached by humanity as theybhad already without permission tainted their bodies with flesh God permited it following stipulated guidelines. That is why God said He would restore everything to the order of his original plan and the lion would lay with the lamb, He would make things as he intended. All we can do in the meantime is do everything in our hand to not participate in the blood torture and await the day when He will restore all things. I can’t wait 😘❤️️🌱🙏🏼
