Sunday Pause (Paws): Take A Look Around

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and notice what’s around you.

Before I begin this post, I just wanted to mention that each one of these pictures were taken by me over this past week (except for the very last image). Some of them were taken with my phone which takes really bad pictures. They would have just been bad quality pictures if I left them alone, so I had fun playing with them and making each one look different.

Flowers that were given to me from my place of employment for the loss of my sister

Just in this past week I have seen a lot of beauty around me. From the flowers above to the beauty in nature as seen in the photos below.

This guy allowed me to get pretty close

Beauty is found in those around us.

I can’t help but smile every time I look at this beautiful sweet face

From the beauty of a pet’s face to the amazing beauty shown in the blogging world. People who have never met one another face to face, yet connect and support one another. It is truly a beautiful thing!

Below are a few comments I received over the last few weeks as I have been posting some pretty emotional posts about the loss of my sister.

That’s why we’re all here. We aren’t wired for grieving alone. ^-.-^

My heart goes out to you. If there is anything I can do please don’t hesitate.

Having lost my older sister (quite a few years ago now), you have my prayers and thoughts. While I still miss her, there are many happy memories which I regularly dwell on… and sincerely hope that you can/will do the same with your sister. Keep smiling! 🙂

Those and all of the comments and support you all have been giving me during this difficult time has been such a blessing.

Sometimes beauty is right in front of us and we don’t even notice until we finally take notice! (make sense?)

I was getting in my car after leaving Cino’s veterinarian office when I saw a butterfly fluttering around in the flowers there. I went over and snapped a few photos. You see, butterflies were one of my sister’s favorite things and so I felt it was there to comfort me. One had flown right in front of my car while I was sitting at a stoplight earlier this day. To see two butterflies in one day, this was something beautiful. Until this day, I wouldn’t have thought much about seeing these butterflies.

So take notice my friends (I feel like I can call you friends), take a look around at all of the beauty surrounding you. It’s in your loved ones face, it’s outside, it’s in your friendships, and it’s in unexpected places such as the comfort of a breeze.

I put the image below together to capture the moment that I felt my sister comfort me as I was mourning her death. We were gathered around under a tree at the cemetery. I was sitting on a bench and my sister’s ashes were next to me. The pastor was praying and giving thanks for the shade on this warm, sunny day, when a huge and long breeze came. You see, it wasn’t a breezy day at all. To me I felt this was my sister telling me everything was going to be alright. I actually smiled and with my eyes closed I let the breeze run over me.

Happy Sunday! Enjoy the beauty around you!
