Did you know today is “World Animal Day?” I just heard the name and that’s all it took for me to know I would love this day. Here is the description of the mission of this day from Wikipedia:
“The mission of World Animal Day, according to the official World Animal Day website is “To raise the status of animals in order to improve welfare standards around the globe. Building the celebration of World Animal Day unites the animal welfare movement, mobilising it into a global force to make the world a better place for all animals. It’s celebrated in different ways in every country, irrespective of nationality, religion, faith or political ideology. Through increased awareness and education we can create a world where animals are always recognised as sentient beings and full regard is always paid to their welfare.”

World Animal Day, a perfect opportunity to share these adorable photos! I actually just took these two photos today of this cat who was given a home by my veterinarian (one of many lucky cats they rescued and is now living at the clinic). They have this basket on their counter meant for treats but instead it has become a bed for kitty. 🙂 They certainly seem to be doing their part in making a difference for animals.
I hope you’ll speak up for animals and, as mentioned in the quote above, together let’s create a world where animals are always recognised as sentient beings and full regard is always paid to their welfare. It can’t happen without you & I.

People certainly need to see animals a having feelings. Way too many just think of them as something that breathes, but is just a dumb animal. Hooray for the Vet Office!

It’s always nice to have a clinic cat (or two). At the animal hospital where I used to work, they often paid for their care by donating some blood when needed.
