Sunday Pause (Paws): Photography

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and capture life’s great moments.

One of my friends is a photographer. I’ve seen what great work she does and have seen many of her photos of people with their pets. So I thought maybe she could take some pictures of Cino & I. I had it pictured in my head how great it would look. She found the perfect basket for Cino to sit in and a blanket to put under it that would look good with her coloring. We were set.

We decided to get together last Sunday and do the photo shoot along with just hanging out and visiting since it had been a while for us. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

I knew Cino most likely wouldn’t cooperate and I was right. There is probably a good reason why not too many people can get photos WITH their cat. Especially when you want them to go in a basket on a table under bright lights. Not happening!

I was finally able to coax Cino out of hiding, and just when my friend was getting ready to leave, Cino decided to taking a closer look at the basket. It was on the floor, not in the ideal spot or lighting for a great photo, but we decided to shoot a couple of pictures anyway. Here they are (my friend took the photos and I cropped them and blurred out the backgrounds).

Pretty cute, aren’t they (especially under the circumstances)?

We were able to visit and catch up and capture some memories. I know I will never forget this day…the first time Cino has ever hissed at me (I think we made her pretty mad).

Happy Sunday! Go capture some memories.

😹 well they are still good. On another note let me know if you encounter any issues on Katzenworld posts appearing. The migration to the new hosting location wasn’t as smooth as hoped for!

Great photos, given the circumstances. Cats are certainly not as cooperative as dogs at taking direction 🙂 Of course, many dogs have a hard time keeping their focus long enough for photos, too. With a little work – and some treats – you may be able to eventually get Cino to model for you 🙂

Yes dogs are easier, but my friend said they can be difficult too in a photo shoot. It’s expected. Cino was pretty stressed out from this (and hissed at me for the first time EVER). It made me feel so bad, I don’t know if I could put her through that again.

I know how you feel. But if you ever want to try it again, I’d suggest you try to work with her ahead of time to try to get her used to it, but don’t force her, and use treats as positive reinforcement.

Pawsome photos! The Tribe of Five wishes the Female Human had that much talent (we have to say it, our photos are a bit lacking) but we still love her and she’s a good purrsonal assistant.
