Sunday Pause (Paws): Happily Ever After

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and find our “Happily Ever After.”

I was watching the tv show “Once Upon A Time” a few days ago. It was the finale of the show and it ended by all of the storybook characters getting their happily ever after.

There was one scene of a character who died being reunited with his life long love and even though he died, this was still his happily ever after. This scene made me cry. There were a lot of things going through my mind; my sister’s death (which happened unexpectedly last year), the recent school shootings, and the recent sermon series at my church which happens to be on death.

When you stop and allow yourself to think about “things” you start realizing how important time is. You start thinking about how well you are writing your own story. At least this is what has been happening to me.

I hope you enjoy the following poem I wrote called “Happily Ever After.”

HAPPILY EVER AFTER

Is happily ever after just a fairy tale?
Is it just on tv or in a book?
I believe it is in everyone’s grasp
So I think you should take another look

Your story began
On the day you were born
Pages filled with happy times
And sometimes breaks to mourn

Things aren’t written in stone
So if it’s not all going as planned
Changes can be made
The pen is in your hand

But the world too
Has its own chapter to tell
When you look around lately
Sadly it can seem like hell

You can erase the fear & sadness
There is hope my friend
Because when the book is closed
The story does not end

If you put your hand in his
And pencil in some time to pray
There is a happily ever after
And it can be yours today

Life is certainly a journey. It has taken me most of my life to “find myself” but I think I finally have. I think my happily ever after is peace with what I have, letting go of fear of the future, living in the now, and leaving this world knowing I made a difference for animals.

Take time out to think about what your happily ever after is.

Happy Sunday!

    O. M.G.!🌟 I was literally praying about this very subject last night!
Your poem touched me deeply…it’s very beautiful.
It’s nice to know that I’m not the only one that cries at sappy movies ..and prays from the heart the same way I do. But the good thing is…we can hold our furry friends and families….and know God is Good and Jesus has us all in His hand….and it will be alright.
Thanks for your post…..made my day.!💕🐈🐾 Andrea.
