Writer’s Block

As a blogger, do you ever feel like there just isn’t much to write about? Of course I am just talking about certain times, not all of the time. This is me lately. I know it’s just a temporary “writer’s block.” Sometimes I have tons to write about that I have to keep a list.

I don’t want to force myself to create a post if I don’t really have anything to say because then I just don’t feel it will be a very good one. This is one of the reasons why I stopped doing “Tuesday Tales.” I have kept “Sunday Pause (Paws)” though because it gives me an opportunity once a week to write a more positive, happy post (at least most of them are). But I do have a hard time coming up with something for those too at times.

There are times when I feel more inspired to create an image than to write about something. But then sometimes the image says it all like this one that I created.

start-seeing-animals-aafbtI wrote this today because I just wanted to say hi to you all and let you know that if you noticed that I haven’t been around much lately, you’re right. But I am still here! I appreciate all of you and I try to visit your blogs when I can. As you know, it’s not just writers block, but sometimes it’s just hard to keep up.

I do have one thing to share with you today though, I have a new camera. I just got it so I have a lot to learn but it’s exciting! My friend who is a photographer helped me pick it out. It is what we are calling a “tweener.” It’s not a “professional photographer” DSLR camera but it’s not a cheap portable one either. It falls somewhere in between.

Here is a picture of a bug I took that was on the railing of my deck. I zoomed in on it through the window…a dirty one at that. 🙂

I did absolutely no editing on it like I usually do with my old camera. The quality of the picture is amazing, especially compared to what I have been using! But it was not easy to capture this picture. I couldn’t get the camera to focus on the bug, it was a big blur but the trees between the railings were coming out crystal clear. I don’t even know how I finally got this shot.

I did a lot of research on cameras in general and it seems that people complain about their cameras when actually it’s not necessarily the camera but the photographer not knowing how to use it. We’ll see…I definitely will be spending time trying to learn this new toy of mine.

I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I will be here tomorrow to post my Sunday Pause (Paws). We’ll see if my writer’s block ends sometime soon so I can write more often. But really the main reason & purpose of my blog is to advocate for animals, not to worry about having to come up with a post…just because.

What about you? Do you worry about posting regularly?

I post when I have a photo and/or something to write about, though sometimes it may be photo and caption only, and sometimes it may be something written only, for want of a relevant graphic.

I’m editing a novel (my own) at the moment and God it’s killing me. Can I call it editor’s block?! I’m also trying to learn to only publish decent posts on my blog. I worry that if I don’t post I won’t get visitors. Better to write something good than bad though, right?

Ha…yes, I bet it is writer’s block. That would be difficult but I bet it will be worth it in the end. I have worried about losing visitors/followers too if I don’t post regularly. But to force out a post just because can make for some very meaningless posts and I don’t want that either. We all are bloggers because we love to write, or take pictures, and/or we have a passion. Blogging is a great platform to express ourselves. Hopefully we all understand that we’re all in the same boat and will experience times where we don’t write much. I follow a few blogs that hardly ever post, but I wouldn’t dream of not following them anymore because when they do write a post, it’s something I really enjoy. 🙂
