Sunday Pause (Paws): Focus On Something Else

its-sunday-aafbt

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and turn the focus on something else.

I‘ve been experiencing a wide range of emotions lately. Part of it is getting older, feeling less patient, and worrying about my future. I know there are changes I need to make in my life, yet it can be so confusing and scary.

Then there are politics, the state of our country, so much violence, all the negative news reports, etc., etc., etc. It can all make you crazy!

I‘ve been reading a book for work called “Managing Emotional Mayhem.” According to what I read it makes me wonder if most of us grew up not ever learning how to deal with our emotions properly.

So is the fact that my emotions have been all over the place because of my own inner & outer struggles, because of all the stuff going on in our world, or because I don’t know how to deal with my emotions? I’d say it’s all of them.

Thank God I have something I really enjoy doing to take my mind and shift my focus when needed…helping animals. Yes if you read every abuse case out there it is going to bring you down. But I don’t. I don’t need to go there. I’ve read enough, seen enough, and know enough that I don’t need to go there to help animals.

This weekend particularly I have been feeling pretty down. I have some important decisions to make for my own well being. I was having a really hard time getting my mind off of these things which is not how I want to spend my weekend. But when I threw myself into creating images and posts it changed my focus.

You see helping animals is also helping me.

For you it might be a hobby, reading, or taking a walk. Whatever it is, we all need something else to focus on sometimes. I’d love to hear about what you do.

Happy Sunday!

By both giving of service to those you Love or deeply care for, and being involved in something you Love to do, help Balance out the emotions, LeeAnn. I’m not sure how old you are but at certain times in a woman’s journey of life, her emotions tend to be more nuts then at other times. Also, what upsets you try your best to avoid. My big example …. the news is a huge source of needless upset. Do what you Love, be with those you Love, and be mindful that there are things one can do to stay Balanced and Calm. (((HUGS)))! 💝💝💝

All good advice, LeeAnn. I have one good husband and three good cats for emotional resources. I tend to be a “Do not attempt this maneuver alone” person when stress hits critical mass.
