Sunday Pause (Paws): Resolutions Are Not For Me

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and come up with new year resolutions…or not.

I‘ve never been one to make resolutions. I’ve actually never been one that got that excited about New Years in general. So we change one number on checks when we write the date…wait does anybody write checks anymore? So we’ll soon be another year older…wait unless you’re birthday is at the end of the year. So we’ll have another January, February, March, April…well you get the point.

I hope you enjoy the poem I wrote for this post.

NO RESOLUTIONS ARE NOT FOR ME

One day out of three hundred sixty five
Doesn’t magically make me strive
Any day I don’t like what’s in the mirror
Means I need to kick myself in the rear
Each day after my coffee & getting dressed
I need to head out and do my best
But it’s OK if I fail at times
As long as I don’t commit any crimes
This rhyme is starting to get off track
Let’s bring the point back
I’m a work that’s in progress
Because real change is a process
Promises made when full of glee
No resolutions are not for me
But I am excited for the unseen
So I do give a big welcome to 2019!

The clock keeps ticking, time doesn’t stop. Try to live EACH day better then the one before.

HAPPY SUNDAY! (and Happy New Year)

***My niece read the poem and said she sees rapping in my future. What do you think? 🙂

They’re not for me either. Resolutions and “To Do” lists are guilt provokers so I just refuse to worry about them. I get things done when I get ’em done…no pressure, no guilt. But that said, I have decided to clean up the mess on my desk and make sure our finances are on track by Monday evening so we can start the new year with a clean slate.
