All we have to do is look around to see that the world is in chaos. I don’t see how this will change things.
There is so much going on and yes, there is some good in there, but the bad and the ugly really seems to be coming out.
We’re battling a pandemic, there is looting and violence going on everywhere, and it’s election year.
Some say the pandemic is a hoax. Some are against wearing a mask. The truth is nobody likes wearing a mask. But if there is even a minuscule chance that wearing one will save someone else’s life (or your own), shouldn’t that be enough?
When it comes to elections I would be curious to see how many people actually learn the facts, views, and plans on both sides before they start criticizing the other candidate, the candidate supporters, and before they actually cast their vote. I suspect there are many people who focus in on one thing they are angry about or just listen to what others are saying without finding out the facts and making their own decisions. Elections in themselves never bring out the good in people. This is when you can see people at their ugliest. Everyone is so passionate about their beliefs which there is nothing wrong with. What is wrong is when people become so blatantly cruel toward those who do not believe the same as they do.
When I first became an animal advocate and when I started this blog I was a lot more graphic in what happens to animals. But I know when I come across, for instance a commercial on tv about starving children, I can’t even watch. I just turn the channel. So I thought about that and realized people were probably doing that with my blog posts. Because throwing violence and graphic pictures at people isn’t the answer. That is only going to upset people or make them just turn away and have nothing to do with it.
There is a lot of disappointment in the world right now. But we are not suppose to put our hope in the world and we are called to be the light.
It’s hard to be “the ONE” who speaks up and doesn’t follow the crowd. But it is “the ONE” that can change the world.
I am often the one who sees things differently than others. Even in something such as love for ALL animals.
About a month ago the tree that was in front of my living room and deck was cut down. I haven’t even lived here a year yet. I was just was getting used to my new home and really enjoying it, and then that happened. It may not seem like a big deal…but to me…it is. I was looking for certain things when I was searching for a new home. One of the things was a nice wooded area with some seclusion. That for me is very relaxing and calming. This place we found faces a parking lot but it didn’t bother me at all because there were two big trees blocking it. Now with the one cut down we’re looking straight at the parking lot…ugh. But this wasn’t just about me now having a full view of the parking lot. There was a squirrel that has been living in that tree. Cino and I would watch it every night. It had a routine where it would jump from one tree to the other, stop on a branch and bathe itself, sometimes lay and take a nap, then eventually making his way up the tree to it’s nest. Birds would come often and sit on branches as well. When I came home to this tree cut down I wondered what happened to the squirrel and if I was the only one who even cared.
So whether it’s different views on animals, to wear or not wear masks, who you are going to vote for, or what you believe in, go ahead and use your voice. Let’s make things better…but not with chaos.
I wanted to end this post with sharing a song called “Love God, Love People” but would like to add also “Love Animals, Love ALL life.”
