There has been a lot said recently about Pamela Anderson not
taking the ice bucket challenge for ALS because the organization
experiments on animals. There has been some support and there has been some criticism. Here is something she said; “Trying to cure human diseases by relying on outdated and ineffective animal experiments isn’t only cruel—it’s a grave disservice to people who desperately need cures.” This is true! Check out the following links that will take you to an organization called “Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine” where this topic is discussed: Animal Testing Alternatives, Research.
It’s not about putting animals before humans, it is that there are
alternatives to using animals and that there is proof that these barbaric
methods fail over and over again at the cost of animal suffering. Look at how many times a prescription medication is recalled. Think about all of the commercials out there that are talking about suing a drug company if you or a loved one has suffered complications to a prescription
medication or surgery.
If the time and effort is put into reading up on alternatives to animal testing, people wouldn’t jump to the conclusion that Pamela Anderson, or anyone who cares about animal suffering, doesn’t care about humans.
Again, it’s not putting animals before human beings, using animals like this is not suppose to be an option. This is never how God intended
animals to be treated when he created them. He created BOTH humans and animals. God said “a righteous man cares for the needs of his animals.” If you read what these animals go through that are used in
animal experimentation, you will see that this is in no way caring for the needs of animals. It’s quite the opposite.
“Trying to cure human diseases by relying on outdated and
ineffective animal experiments isn’t only cruel—it’s a grave
disservice to people who desperately need cures.”
Torturing animals to cure us, there is something really wrong with this. There are other ways to cure us. Animals are Feeling Beings Too!
Here is a link that has some organizations you can support that do not experiment on animals: Humane Charity Seal There are plenty of them.
