Doesn’t Tee look so relaxed and comfortable? What could be better than lying in the garden getting some sun? 🙂

Sadly less than a month ago Tee was not so relaxed, but found himself in a terrible predicament. He was found screaming face down in a barn in a pile of junk with his paw stuck in a trap. Below is the actual trap he was found in. Isn’t it horrible?!

The next two photos are of the injuries Tee sustained during the terrible ordeal. One is of his paw and the other is his cut lip from biting his mouth, tongue, and the trap itself.

Thank you Amy for allowing me to share this. I am so glad Tee has you looking out for him! It is horrible that someone would deliberately set a trap like this. I don’t know much about the laws regarding these, but regardless I think we need to fight for more or better laws on this subject. I can’t imagine how anyone can set a trap that will catch an animal and leave it in excruciating pain. Where are these people’s hearts? I really don’t understand.

    Dearest Leeann, I am in tears as I write this to you. I am so moved about what you wrote and you did such a beautiful job putting together this post. I Love this cat with all my heart and for this to have happened I still have nightmares about. Yes it is legal to have a trap like this here in the states yet 67 countries have banned it. Not only that, the Vet who took care of him commented when we came back to get him, “He is just so filthy.” Really? He was found in a pile of junk (I should have sent you that picture too) and she has the nerve to make a comment like that in a tone that said, “yuck”? I’m in the process of finding another Vet. That’s not all that has happened with this Vet and this event just broke the camel’s back. NO! These animals are precious and they deserve to be treated with the utmost respect and top care, even if they are filthy. God bless you, dear friend, for creating this post. I am moved, and I am so grateful to you. (((HUGS))) Amy ❤

      I would have nightmares too. Wow, we have to fight this and get bans on these traps here! You definitely need to be comfortable with your vet! I really like mine. I remember a friend of mine saying she thought the clinic was dirty and run down and it was partially true (they just finished remodeling-now its beautiful), but to me it is more important how my pet is being treated and my vet treats Cino so wonderful (and me)!
      I am so glad you let me share this. I always love to share about things that we need to raise awareness about for the good of animals!

        The attempt at banning gets stuck in litigation. It’s barbaric that this trap is still allowed. As for your Vet count yourself lucky. Please say a prayer for me because I’m going tomorrow to speak to a Vet I think would work beautifully with our cats. I have certain standards and rules which the Vets we see now do not respect. So I keep looking. Thank you again for doing such a wonderful writeup on Tee. He’s really looking good except yesterday he had too much sun on that paw and now is suffering sunburn on raw skin. Ouch! I helped him by giving him something for pain. 💖🌹💖

    Happy ending, but what an infuriating start! Anyone using a trap like that is a lower life form than a python. May God bless your work–you are absolutely heroic, Amy. ❤ ^-.-^

      Lower than primordial ooze – don’t insult the pythons! I wish everyone using one of these traps would get caught in one themselves – and I am not one who wishes ill to others.

      That’s so awesome! I feel so fortunate to have such a great, caring vet too. We took our dog to this vet when I was growing up and now I bring my pets there. 🙂 They are a family owned business that has been around for a while. I hope Amy finds a good one for her cats.

        I hope so too – and I hope she insists that whatever vet she does find treats her animals with loving kindness. PERIOD.

        I left immediately with 3 Shih Tzus who had appts. after witnessing a vet in a group practice go OFF on an owner in the lobby of a supposedly well-respected Knoxville, TN office – total temper tantrum because he did not want to take the time to fully dry a dog who had just been bathed for a ONE HOUR trip to her mother’s house.

        Not only do I NOT want my dogs around that energy, if he’d do that in the lobby, what does he do behind closed doors. Nope. Not taking that chance. Outa’ there. Forever.

            No alternative – I am NOT going to leave my pets around anyone with a temper problem.. I stay with my guys too, whenever possible, but what if one of my babies had needed an operation and had to stay overnight? NOT at that Knoxville vet!

            With Tink’s vet now, I would *never* worry about how he would be treated — by anyone who works there. All of the dogs seem to be perfectly happy to be there – and that tells you a lot.

            But the office also call you with updates — like when Tink had to be fixed and chipped – “He did fine, he’s awake but groggy – he’s ready for you to come get him.” ( I was down the street because I was way too nervous to wait inside.)

            AND she listens to what I want and my thinking about vaccinations, etc. Like I said, GREAT vet. We are very lucky.

    I have thought about creating a petition for banning these traps, but I don’t live in US and I don’t know all the rules for doing so. Is it possible, that you will help me to make a such one?
    I find these traps so cruel, even if the monsters who use them, are much more cruel.
