Sunday Pause (Paws): It’s A Jungle Out There

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and enjoy being home.

After a week of unexpected fees, upset clients, and news stories about animal abuse cases, I was so ready for the weekend. I was thinking of writing a post or a poem to express myself, which you know I do, but I decided to stay on the lighter side and make a little comic about the reality of our society.

Yes, I believe there is plenty of good out there, but we’re only human and sometimes we feel discouraged and just want to stay in the comfort of our home. Because sometimes…it’s a jungle out there!

Have you ever seen the tv show “Monk?” I love this show! He is so funny with all of his idiosyncrasies. In fact the show’s theme song is “It’s A Jungle Out There.” For those who have never heard it I have the YouTube video for you that is a little over a minute long.

A few of my favorite things about being at home and out of the jungle are that I can take a pause from my busy days and sleep in as late as I want. Then when I get up I can take my time sipping my coffee and kicking back on the couch. My schedule is mine and I can spend more time with family, which of course, includes my sweet Cino.

What is your favorite thing about the weekend? Whatever it is, enjoy.

Happy Weekend, Happy Sunday!

I enjoy the enjoyable, meaning I have to be selective. When I’m in the comfort of my own home [which is often], I can make my own choices count. I can get up and dance around the house to my favorite songs turned up as loud as I can stand [good exercise to bout]. I can have a conversation with myself if I so choose, and I can spend time with my little dog who also chooses. She goes for the same toy every time. As we pull and tug to each of our delights, I give thanks that I’m right where I prefer to be. It’s heavenly!

I need to enjoy my weekends more! I find them to be time to catch up on a lot of things I was not able to do during the work week that I want to be doing more of! I can’t wait to retire! I have so much I’ll be doing social justice wise for animals! What I can say I enjoy about weekends is also sleeping in! And taking my time, not being “on task” or pushed by a schedule of things I have to do (for my employer, which more and more I find are tasks that I am doing for the world and I would rather be spending all my time on kingdom things!).
