Easter is almost here and sadly many people think a rabbit is a great gift for their child. They are not a thing that should be thought of as a gift or object to be given for a holiday.
Sadly most people don’t do the research to find out what is required to have a rabbit as a pet. They actually require A LOT of care to be happy and healthy. I am an animal advocate and I had no idea how much care they required until a friend of mine adopted one.
Because of the impulsiveness to get a rabbit on Easter people aren’t educated on the proper care care which leads to a lot of neglected, returned, or abandoned rabbits.
Chocolate rabbits instead of real rabbits.
I agree, people that buy live Rabbits for their children on Easter, are not teaching them the importance of raising a live being. They are a commercial item, and soon forgotten or abandoned.
