Hello everyone! It’s been a while that I don’t even know who this post is even reaching. Old followers/fellow bloggers or maybe new followers/fellow bloggers. Regardless, thanks for stopping by my blog which I hope to keep going regardless of how often I write.
It’s also been a while since I’ve written a poem. I wrote the following one because for a cat that has always been so healthy, this has been a tough year for us and having a senior pet is certainly a challenge…

Animals awaken a part of your soul
Empathy for all life, a bond like no other
Sweet Cino you are my baby
And I know to you, I am your mother
You bring a joy that can’t be explained
When the world has me at wits end
You always remind me to take a breath
Sweet girl you are my forever best friend
This is not the end, we still have time
Although we never know how much
Every minute with you is so precious
Every cuddle, every meow, every touch
At 19+ years you are not the same
The sweet girl I know is slipping away
But by your side, together til the end
Dear God, please help me through these days
©️LeeAnn Johnston/Animals Are Feeling Beings Too

I know how you feel, LeeAnn. Our beloved dog died a year ago, she was 16. This was preceded by months of dread and overwhelming love. And it is followed by endlessly missing and remembering her. Sending love to you and Cino 😻

So sorry for your loss.❤️ Only those of us who truly open our hearts to animals and think of them like family can understand this heartache. Thank you for your comment.

I’ve seen some disturbing signs of age-related decline in my cat in recent months and I find this subject too difficult to talk about, but I wish you and your cat well. It does hurt the soul just to contemplate the end so I do what I do best, which is defer the feelings and pretend it’s not happening.

That’s what I typically do too. It’s so incredibly difficult. My heart is just breaking. 💔 Thank you for your comment and I wish you and your pet well also.
