Sunday Pause (Paws): A Spring Snow Storm

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back & relax!

Today I have a little story in the form of a poem. I hope you enjoy.

A turkey out for a stroll
When the weather takes a turn
Shelter found under a roof’s edge
Until something causes him concern

Footsteps coming towards him
A person with a camera in hand
Makes him start to move away
Wings flapping, I think I made him mad

When the weather keeps you inside
It can be a great excuse to kick back
Cuddle up with your furry friend
And watch a movie in the sack

So if in your neck of the woods
Spring is supposed to be here
But mother nature had another idea and
Has brought winter back in high gear

Then you are definitely not alone
It seems to be the winter that will not end
But don’t let that bring you down
We’ll see birds & butterflies soon enough my friend

We are having a record breaking Spring snow storm in the blizzard category. The snow has been falling, everything has turned white again, and the wind has been whistling loudly for two days now. Can you see the haziness in the picture below? That is snow falling & blowing. The picture doesn’t nearly show the reality of it.

I‘ve been thinking about this turkey hoping it found shelter somewhere until the storm passes.

The picture below is Jasmine cuddling with her pet parent, Clair, in the UK. (Thanks for sharing this pic with me)

If the weather is keeping you inside…sit back, relax, and enjoy the day anyway.

Happy Sunday!

Ice storm followed by snow here too. No turkey though. Several years back, a turkey standing on the roadside, flew straight into our car as we drove at highway speeds. Scared the life out of me, and did no small bit of damage to our car. I hope your turkey visitor doesn’t have the same suicidal tendencies. 😔
