It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and put a spotlight on seniors.

November is “Adopt A Senior Pet Month” and I just couldn’t let November end without doing a post. But I wanted to do a post about seniors in general.

We start off this life depending on others to care for us and we often end this life depending on this very same thing. But there is a difference. When we’re a baby we’re seen as cute and lovable. When we’re old we’re often seen as not so cute and annoying.

But aging is the circle of life. Things WILL change.

This goes for both humans and animals.

Pets sitting in a cold concrete cage at a shelter is sad enough to think about. But knowing there are senior pets there is heartbreaking. Sometimes it’s understandable how they wind up there such as when their “parent” dies. But sadly sometimes it’s just selfishness on the humans part and they simply abandon them because they got old and more needy.

There are caring people out there. Some people who purposefully adopt senior pets. They care for them for the rest of their days on this earth so they don’t have to spend it in that cold concrete cage at the shelter.

There are respectful people out there. I wanted to share a couple of videos I watched that really touched me. Young men seeing an elderly person trying to get across the road and taking it upon themselves to help.

We’re all going to be old one day…if we’re lucky. How will you want to be treated?
