Sunday Pause (Pause): Be Kind Because Kindness Is A Superpower

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and spread a little kindness.

I came across a video clip talking about kindness and they called it a super power.ย

Here is the video:

Everyone could use some of this these days, including animals. Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): Thoughts About A World In Chaos

All we have to do is look around to see that the world is in chaos. I don’t see how this will change things.

There is so much going on and yes, there is some good in there, but the bad and the ugly really seems to be coming out.

We’re battling a pandemic, there is looting and violence going on everywhere, and it’s election year.

Some say the pandemic is a hoax. Some are against wearing a mask. The truth is nobody likes wearing a mask. But if there is even a minuscule chance that wearing one will save someone else’s life (or your own), shouldn’t that be enough?

When it comes to elections I would be curious to see how many people actually learn the facts, views, and plans on both sides before they start criticizing the other candidate, the candidate supporters, and before they actually cast their vote. I suspect there are many people who focus in on one thing they are angry about or just listen to what others are saying without finding out the facts and making their own decisions. Elections in themselves never bring out the good in people. This is when you can see people at their ugliest. Everyone is so passionate about their beliefs which there is nothing wrong with. What is wrong is when people become so blatantly cruel toward those who do not believe the same as they do.

When I first became an animal advocate Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): Staying In The Moment

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and stay in the moment.

Restaurants and stores are opening back up, people are going back to work, and people are starting to gather. This trying time is far from over but we’re getting back to our lives (somewhat).

Normally many of us find ourselves on a never ending merry-go-round finding it hard to rest and just be. Some are afraid to because if they allow themselves to rest or sit in quiet, instead of chaos, they may have to think about or face something they don’t want to but maybe should. I have been given the challenge before to just sit in complete silence, to just be, and to set aside all of my worries, focus on just one thing, or just clear my mind. Have you ever tried that? It is not as easy as you may think. Before you know it your mind is wandering back to the to do list or worrying about something. It’s amazing how hard it is to truly just be in the moment.

We can certainly take lessons from our pets on this as this image below wonderfully portrays.

Do Something

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back and relax. But not for too long because the world needs you, me, WE.

I heard a song recently called “DO SOMETHING” and thought it was perfect not only because that is what I am doing for animals and encouraging others to, but also it seems perfect for the times.

I wrote a poem a while back in this image below and it has the same message the song does. We wonder why God isn’t doing anything. His reply is that he is. He’s waiting for us.

Sunday Pause (Paws): Father’s Day During Quarantine

It’s Sunday and it’s Father’s Day!

We’re thinking of dad and a bit sad that we are not together with him this year due to the virus.

I’ve Got Chills, They’re Multiplying

Hello all.

This post is just for fun! It doesn’t have anything to do with animals other than mine is going to be giving me funny looks all night as I sing & dance along to GREASE. ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ•บ๐ŸŽค๐ŸŽถ

This was one of my favorite movies when I was younger. Now I see it actually doesn’t have the best message but the music is alot of fun!

I‘ve got chills, they’re multiplying! How about you? Any of you fans and watching tonight?

Here is the trailer…

Sunday Pause (Paws): Celebrate Them Even If You Can’t Celebrate WITH Them

It’s Sunday! It’s Mother’s Day! ๐Ÿ’Time to let them know how much they mean to us.

This Mother’s Day is quite different for a lot of us though. We can’t actually celebrate with them. ๐Ÿ˜’

But…we can still celebrate them.

Pet moms…you’re not forgotten!

Sunday Pause (Paws): Smile When You Think You Can’t

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and smile.๐Ÿ˜

I didn’t get a chance to write a post yesterday so I thought I might wind up skipping this Sunday. But when I woke up this morning I had a song in my head and it made me smile. I decided this song would be great to share.

The song is about smiling even though “stuff” is happening. There is some “stuff” that could bring me down a little bit this weekend…if I let them. Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): That Sweet Face

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back and relax. I don’t know what the weather is like where you are but here it has been a weekend to stay in. We’re having rain/snow mix and it is making for some very icy road conditions. On weekends like this I truly can take some time to kick back and relax.

I hope all of you who celebrate enjoyed Christmas and the gatherings. At my family gathering I was asked how things were going with my blogging. My response was “good but I haven’t been writing very meaty posts lately.” I miss sitting down and pouring my heart into a post and I will get back to that. Sometimes life just takes you in other directions for a while.

My meatyย posts usually come from an experience of some sort. Not too long ago when I was driving on a highway I passed a truck full of cows. My heart instantly became heavy and I had tears streaming down my face. I wondered if I was the only one on that highway who notices and feels sad for them. Or if everyone sees such a thing as “normal.” In this world it may be looked at as “normal” but the God I know didn’t have that planned for his creation. So in my awareness I have to ask myself do I sit back and just act “normal” and go along with the crowd or do I speak up and educate others? I choose the latter. So you see it is experiences that touch my heart & soul that bring about those meaty posts and I hope this last paragraph was somewhat that.

That experience of seeing the cows (and the adorable picture of Cino) made me think of a poem I wrote a while ago and thought it would fit very well in today’s post. I changed it a little bit and have recorded myself reading it. But boy did I have a lot of trouble making this video. I worked on it for a long, long time, late into the night. It seems to be a software problem. Hopefully I will figure it out eventually for future videos or just go with another route of recording. But for now this is the best I can do. It is a recording with my phone. The poem is also typed out on this post if you want to follow along or just read it.
