Routine Exams-Ugh!

Those routine annual exams, none of us are particularly fond of them, but they are important!

doctor-checklistHarvard Health Publications

I just had a bit of a scare being called back in for a recheck after a routine annual exam. Because of this, I asked others for prayer, prayed myself, and kept myself busy until the appointment. Our pets are not to fond of these annual exams either, but at least they do not know they are going until you take them. They don’t have to spend that “waiting” time. Waiting for the appointment day, waiting to be called in, and waiting for the results.

Tuesday Tale-What is Your Pet’s Tale?

So far I have done Tuesday Tales about animals I find on the web, about my cat Cino, and about people I know and their pet stories. NOW I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

share-your-storyRAREDaily

A lot of you have your own blog about your pet, so I understand you are already telling the story of your pet. But by sharing it with me, you may gain some new exposure and, quite frankly, you would really be helping me out. A lot of bloggers view posts, but do not necessarily participate, perhaps because your own blog is keeping you busy. Or maybe you’re thinking somebody else will participate so you are not needed. You are needed!! I love hearing about your stories too! It’s important for bloggers to connect and animal lovers!

I am not asking for a lot of your time, you don’t have to share much. You could share just one paragraph that sums up the story of your pet. But if you prefer, it can be longer than a paragraph. Share as much or as little as you would like. It would be great to have a picture of them to go along with the paragraph too.

What I will do is include the paragraph and photo you send me in one of my Tuesday Tales along with others. I will include a link back to your blog as well.

Sunday Pause (Paws)

Fall is a beautiful time of year, but it can bring many rainy days.
rain-in-autumn

But, hey, it’s Sunday! Time to kick back & relax. We can especially do that on a rainy day. I don’t know about you, but I really enjoy watching the rain through a window. I find it very relaxing, especially with a blanket and a hot cup of tea.

Or maybe you want to go out and play in the rain. (maybe take your pet out with you, although my guess is most pets aren’t to keen on going out in the rain)

Whatever you do enjoy your day!

What is the weather like today where you are? Is it raining by chance? It is suppose to be 49 degrees for a high today and cloudy where I am. It did rain almost all day yesterday.

Note: I am going to be doing a little bit different Tuesday Tale this week. I will be asking for your stories. Please come back and check out the post this Tuesday and PLEASE plan to share a little bit with me about your pet (past or current).

Halloween Safety For Our Pets

Halloween is near! Although this may be a fun time for children and adults, this can be a scary time for our pets.

It’s a noisy and busy night. It’s important to keep your pets inside, safe, and calm.

Here are some safety tips from petMD.

Sunday Pause (Paws)

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax and get a massage!

This dog has the right idea!

animated-cat-leaves(It may take a minute for it to fully load)

Have you ever gotten a massage? I did just one time. It was a gift from my sister for Christmas. We went together. I was really nervous because it seemed really weird to me to have have a stranger give you a massage. It turned out not to be as weird as I thought and it was certainly very relaxing! I would probably get another one some day.

How about your pet? Have you ever taken them for a massage? I love that this is an option for our pets too. After all they get sore just as we do.

Sunday “Paws” to “Claws.” If you haven’t seen my post from last night, please check it out here and please share your thoughts with me on declawing.

Declawing a Cat

One of my “Tuesday Tales” sparked quite a conversation with myself and a few other bloggers. The post was about my cat, Cino, and our first weeks together.

Here is the part of the post that got the conversations going:

“The next few weeks would turn out to be a pretty rough beginning for us. I had to take her to the veterinarian to catch up on some vaccinations and because she was sick. She needed to be given medication for the next 10 days (poor thing). Then I went to give the paperwork from the veterinarian to the apartment manager. She gave them back to me and said she needed to be declawed in the back. What?!” Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws)

Does anyone remember this cartoon? One of my favorites!

Fred, Wilma, Barney, Betty, Pebbles, Bamm Bamm, and let’s not forget, Dino!

Three things I remember about Dino their dinodog; he was purple, a very large pet, and he always knocked over Fred when he came home! 🙂

It’s Sunday, a day to relax! So whether you remember the show or don’t even know what the show is, kick back, press play, and enjoy the song “Let The Sunshine In” sang by Pebbles and Bamm Bamm. (I never realized it had such a great message.)

Three things about my cat, Cino, are; she doesn’t like to be picked up, she likes to sleep completely under blankets on the bed, on the couch, and on the floor, & she hides under the table when it’s time to brush her teeth.

Here she is hiding under the table while I am trying to coax her out with poultry flavored toothpaste.

What are three things about your pet?

Do You See Double (maybe even triple)?

double-photo-challengeThis post is part of “Thursday’s Special: Double”

I love this photo of my cat, Cino, showing her reflection in her water fountain. I don’t know if she noticed herself, but I took notice of a great photo moment.

It is VERY important that our cats get enough water. Research shows that most don’t. I have this water fountain to hopefully help with that.

Cats love running water. Think about how much they love to go in your sink and catch the water coming out of the faucet.

Consider getting your cat their very own fountain. It could help with their overall health!

Sunday Pause (Paws)

It’s Sunday, a day to rest! So pause from the busyness of life. Kick back, relax, and enjoy these precious animals doing just that! (turn up the sound)

The most precious pictures I get of my sweet Cino, is when she is sleeping.

HAPPY SUNDAY!
