Taking Care

It’s been a while. Hope you’re all doing well!

We’re trying a new water fountain for Cino. We gave up on having one for a while because they kept breaking down or just not working well. We’ll see how this one is. This one is the Catit flower fountain. Anyone else have this?

Cino LOVES fountains and having one around has important health benefits.

Now, let’s talk weather. It’s been really, really cold here and this weather always makes me think of all the animals without proper care and shelter. So a reminder that if you see an animal being left out in the cold, be their voice and say something.

How’s the weather where you are?

I saw this image and felt it was perfect to share on my blog. I’ll end with this. It is exactly what I would do and what I believe we should all be doing…caring for all of God’s creatures.

Sunday Pause (Paws): Scrambled Thoughts

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back & relax.

I haven’t been relaxing yet but it’ll come later. I’m working on laundry and other household tasks first. So speaking about laundry, at our new place we have a nice front load washer. I have heard they can leave an unpleasant smell behind in the washer, which I have found to be very true, and it seems my laundry never smells good. Today for the first time I am trying “UNStopables” scent beads. The laundry isn’t done yet but I can smell it while it’s going and it smells good, so hopefully so will my laundry.

Anyway, that isn’t what I was going to write about, although I am writing on scrambled thoughts. 🙂

It isn’t always easy for me to write a post unless I have a specific conversation or situation through the week that gives me an idea for one. There hasn’t been any of that lately, but I have been having a lot of thoughts about animals. They’re so scrambled it’s been hard to pull them together to write a post. I finally decided just to go ahead and let them out even if they come out scrambled. Mostly I have been thinking about how I feel like I or other animal loving people have to use so much time & energy in convincing other people about animal’s rights. You see to me it seems like it should be obvious. God created them and God gave us the job to care for them. Period.

If you believe in God, you probably believe that when this world ends there will be no more Continue reading

Dominion Over Animals…How Do We Interpret This?

I finally took some time this morning to read over the online debate another blogger participated in and shared with me. They were discussing all animals and what the bible says about them. The discussion started on the topic of elephants in circuses.

There is a lot of confusion out there about the bible and what God says about animals.

Genesis 1:26-Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

For one thing, it says “in our own likeness.” Does anyone believe God would abuse animals?

Some synonyms for the word “dominion” are: power, rule, superior. Who says “power”, “ruling”, or “superiority” is a bad thing, a ticket to harm? Why is that assumed? As loving and beautiful as God is, why wouldn’t it be assumed that it meant to care, provide, guide, teach, and protect? Continue reading
