Sunday Pause (Paws): Happily Ever After

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and find our “Happily Ever After.”

I was watching the tv show “Once Upon A Time” a few days ago. It was the finale of the show and it ended by all of the storybook characters getting their happily ever after.

There was one scene of a character who died being reunited with his life long love and even though he died, this was still his happily ever after. This scene made me cry. There were a lot of things going through my mind; my sister’s death (which happened unexpectedly last year), the recent school shootings, Continue reading

It’s Cino’s Birthday

Eight years ago this little angel came into my life. She was so confused at the Humane Society when I was visiting her in the adoption room. Both of us unsure of one another. But then there was a look and a “meow” and that was all it took for me to make up my mind.

She spent many days hiding behind the toilet in her new home. Then one night I woke up to a cold wet nose. It was then that we became buddies, it was then that we became family.

It is my honor & pleasure to celebrate her today.

Happy 11th Birthday Cino!

Sunday Pause (Paws): Happy Mother’s Day

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and thank moms for all that they do!

Being a mom doesn’t just mean a woman caring for her offspring. A mom is one who cares for another life.

You feed them when they’re hungry
Make sure they always have water in their dish
That they have lots of toys to play with
And almost anything they wish Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): Peeking In, Looking Forward

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and renew.

Because we all need to refresh & recharge
I’m peeking in to say to you
Leave behind the week you just had
And look forward to what’s brand new

A New Life For Jack

jack3-2017-edited-with-words-aafbt

Six years ago Jack was found by a little boy. The little boy heard barking come from a dumpster in the parking lot of his apartment building. He took this little dog out of the dumpster and brought him to school where a teacher helped find him a new home. That new home was with someone I know. Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): Birthday Celebrations

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and celebrate!

It’s nice getting together with loved ones to celebrate birthdays.

There’s food.

Pay It Forward

Today is “Pay It Forward” day.

A quote I saw on Facebook: “If you want more kindness in the world, put it out there.” So true!

Personally, I  spent years just being mad and complaining about the things I really hated about this world. Thank God I realized THAT doesn’t do any good. Change happens when we take action.

Of course my passion is helping animals. I feel like they are the forgotten. Thought of as not important by many. It’s taken me a long time to figure out HOW to help animals, but then came my blog (you can read more about this on my About page). Even still I find myself Continue reading

Trying A New Thing

Not too long ago I mentioned I was going to a class where we would make a glass bowl. Something I have never done before. I like to do crafty things occasionally and I especially like trying new things.

Deciding on colors & design. Gluing glass together.

A few people mentioned they would like to see the finished bowl so I am sharing it with you today…but first Cino needed to check it out. Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): Beautiful Soul

It’s Sunday, time to kick back, relax, and remember.

I wanted to dedicate this post to remembering those who have passed. Death is never easy for those left behind. When you lose someone close to you, you are never the same. I shared the poem below shortly after my sister passed away last year. I thought it was fitting to share it again now. Her birthday is next week, so I have been thinking a lot about her lately.

Even when it’s not someone you personally know, but the loss of a super star, it can be devastating. The following are pictures I took when I visited Paisley Park after Prince passed away last year (April 21st, 2017). It was so much more sparse than what it had been when the news first got out that he was gone. By the time I went most of it had blown away, the flowers had died, and so on.  Continue reading
