The tale of Cuddles told by Amy

Amy and I discussed her sharing a tale about one of her cats. Since she had written a post about one of them recently, we decided I would just share her story by reblogging it here on my blog. This is a great post that includes pictures and a video. Love it!

Thank you Amy for sharing your story with me. I am SO happy Cuddles ran out of the barn that day for you guys to find. I wonder why he became aggressive after being so cuddly?

I also believe in brushing our pet’s teeth, so I would love to hear what kind of tool you use to get the tartar off of his teeth!

This tale was shared by Amy, a fellow blogger who participated in “Tuesday Tale-What Is Your Pet’s Tale?”. If you would like to participate, click the “Tuesday Tales” tab on my blog for details.

(The tale of Cuddles is also posted on the “November Tuesday Tale” page)

This video of Cuddles is something that happens every day.  You can hear from my voice a bit of exasperation because just as I have completely cleaned up in the kitchen for the morning (every morning), in walks Cuddles for more food.  *sigh*  And yes I know I recently posted a video of Cuddles and Rusty playing.  What can I tell you?  I have no control of what is going to happen especially with these cats.  At least in this video you will see another side to Cuds Cuds.  I do have several more videos that I plan on posting of other cats that live in this house too.  (smile)

Cuddles is persistent and consistent if nothing else.  When he wants to eat, nothing is going to get him to stop to do whatever it takes to get me to feed him.  He is a 12-year old male rescued barn…

Sunday Pause (Paws)

cino-tree

This is Cino checking out the tree right after I finished putting it up. She gets so excited when the tree goes up.

I used my cell phone for the picture above and I am not one of those people who has a great cell phone. I have a very basic one, which I got, believe it or not, to make phone calls with. This photo probably would have turned out a lot better with one of those great new phone cameras. But for having an average phone camera, I must say I do like the dark, shadowy look with the lights glowing softly.

For this Sunday Pause (Paws), I invite you to sit back, relax, and check out the other photos of Cino on “My Sweet Cino” page and read a little story about us. There is a link on the photos page of how Cino & I met, if you haven’t already read it. (It was one of my earlier posts when I first started seriously blogging a few months ago so I don’t think many people saw it).

Happy Sunday!

Happy Thanksgiving. Let It Not Be Forgotten After The Meal

I would like to wish everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING! No matter if your country celebrates a similar holiday or not, we ALL have things to be grateful for and should take the time to think about them with gratitude.

I hope you have a blessed day and….

The tale of Theodore told by Amelia

My sister had gotten a puppy named, Theodore, for her 9th birthday. Almost two years later, Theodore went missing.

Dad had Theodore outside and turned away for a minute. When he looked back Theodore was gone. He called for him, but Theo never came.

Pets Outside in the Cold-What Do We Do?

do-somethingAnimal Radio

I received a phone call this morning from someone who is concerned about a neighbor dog and they were looking for advice. The dog seems to be put outside whenever they are home and then brought inside whenever they leave. When the dog is outside it is put inside of a little fenced in square they have in the yard.

The concern isn’t so much about that, even though in my opinion, I don’t feel people should have a dog unless they are actually going to pay attention to it. It’s more about the nonstop barking for one. Although ignoring your pet is going to cause barking and other behavior issues (and who’s fault is this?…not the dog’s. Just saying). The other concern is, it just turned very cold here, and the dog is being left in the cold for hours at a time. This dog has no doghouse to go into and there are no leaves on trees anymore to block the brutal winds. Continue reading

The tale of Casey told by Allison

One evening our neighbor called us over because she heard a strange sound near one of the sheds. It sounded like a meow. As it turned out, it WAS a meow!

The Tale of Tank Told by Allisha
allisha-tank-copy

I was on the internet searching for pitbull puppies when I came across an ad about some for sale in Iowa MN. I called to see if they were still available and they were. So, one weekend we drove down to Iowa to go look at them and once we got there I fell in love with all 4 puppies that they had.

My boyfriend picked out the puppy that he wanted and I got to choose the puppy that I wanted, so in the end we came home with 2 puppies! One we named Duke and one we named Tank.

We had both of them for a couple of months and then…

Routine Exams-Ugh!

Those routine annual exams, none of us are particularly fond of them, but they are important!

doctor-checklistHarvard Health Publications

I just had a bit of a scare being called back in for a recheck after a routine annual exam. Because of this, I asked others for prayer, prayed myself, and kept myself busy until the appointment. Our pets are not to fond of these annual exams either, but at least they do not know they are going until you take them. They don’t have to spend that “waiting” time. Waiting for the appointment day, waiting to be called in, and waiting for the results.

Do Dogs Have Feelings?

I came across an article called “Do Dogs Have Feelings?” by Michael Arbeiter. My answer before reading it is, YES, all animals do!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This article mentions that dogs feelings (or emotions) can be things like fear, aggression, and panic. These feelings/emotions can cause behavior problems. There is also joy in animals.

“If I act very, silly, that’ll produce a joy that is greater in a dog than just wagging their tail. When you’re acting goofier-maybe you’re running around in the yard or you’re playing fetch-there’s a higher level of happiness.”

Tuesday Tale-What is Your Pet’s Tale?

So far I have done Tuesday Tales about animals I find on the web, about my cat Cino, and about people I know and their pet stories. NOW I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

share-your-storyRAREDaily

A lot of you have your own blog about your pet, so I understand you are already telling the story of your pet. But by sharing it with me, you may gain some new exposure and, quite frankly, you would really be helping me out. A lot of bloggers view posts, but do not necessarily participate, perhaps because your own blog is keeping you busy. Or maybe you’re thinking somebody else will participate so you are not needed. You are needed!! I love hearing about your stories too! It’s important for bloggers to connect and animal lovers!

I am not asking for a lot of your time, you don’t have to share much. You could share just one paragraph that sums up the story of your pet. But if you prefer, it can be longer than a paragraph. Share as much or as little as you would like. It would be great to have a picture of them to go along with the paragraph too.

What I will do is include the paragraph and photo you send me in one of my Tuesday Tales along with others. I will include a link back to your blog as well.
