Legally Blonde 2

Have you ever seen the movie Legally Blonde or Legally Blonde 2? Reese Witherspoon plays Elle Woods a fashionable sorority queen. In Legally Blonde she winds up going to law school and becoming a lawyer and in Legally Blonde 2 she finds herself fighting against animal experimentation.

I am not sure how well the two movies did in theaters and some may even say they are corny chick flicks which they may very well be. But I find myself being drawn to these types of movies. I think I still have the envy little girls have for “princesses” still in me.

Regardless of how well they did in the box office, I found positive messages in each of these movies. Legally Blonde shows how you really should never judge a book by its cover. Everyone thought Elle was way too pink & ditsy to ever go to law school and actual become a lawyer. But she did!

In Legally Blonde 2, she was laughed at for bringing up her concern for animals suffering in experiments for cosmetics. But she didn’t let that stop her. Please enjoy the following clip from the movie (6:50 minutes). (Ignore the silly “my dog is gay thing”)

Sunday Pause (Paws): Amazing Blogging Community

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and smile.

Smile at what? Although there is a lot of tragedy in our world, there is still a lot to smile about. One thing that makes me smile is the amazing blogging community…you!

It is so awesome meeting people from all around the world. Most people who follow me have a love for animals as I do and I always love meeting fellow animal lovers. But that isn’t the only community I am part of. I follow and have connected with photographers, artists, authors, & foodies. I have connected with someone who makes jewelry in Spain, an author in Canada, and the artist I am featuring in today’s post from the UK. I connected with her on Facebook, which is another great community of people.

The talent out there is so much fun to see and even more awesome to be able to share with my followers as I am today. The following painting is by Clair Green. It is of her cat, Jasmine, in her favorite spot in the garden.

Animals In The Weather

In November of 2016 I wrote a post about someone who was concerned about the dog next door being left outside and was asking my advice. I want to share that post again because it is a topic that deserves thought & discussion.

Where I am it has been brutally cold. We have had below zero temperatures lasting more than a week in a row. I think about any poor animals that might be out in this weather without shelter. Whether it be because of a bad pet parent (hate the word “owner”), they are lost, or that they are a stray, having to endure these temperatures must be brutal. I’m sure it even causes some animals to lose their life. 😦

Sunday Pause (Paws): For The New Year

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and reflect on the past year. Or not.

For me, the most stand out thing in the past year was the unexpected death of my sister. I miss her dearly. I had an ornament made this Christmas in her honor.

Reflecting on this past holiday season, there sure have been a lot of fun times and great memories made. I thought I would share my favorite gift I received this year. Continue reading

Featured on Katzenworld: My Journey With Cino (So Far)

It was published! 🙂

Last week I mentioned that Cino would be featured on Katzenworld and that I would share it with you once it was published. Well it was published this past Thursday.

Since I have shared stories about Cino and written a few poems on my own blog, I decided to write a new poem that encompasses Cino & I’s journey so far for Katzenworld. They publish poems on Thursdays which they call “Purrsday Poetry.”

So without further adieu, click the link below to read the poem on the Katzenworld blog.

Sunday Pause (Paws): Comfort When Near

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and begin enjoying the festivities.

Christmas time truly is my favorite time of year. I made a ton of Christmas cookies with some friends, went to see the Nutcracker with family, spent an afternoon with my niece at a craft show, watched a bunch of corny Christmas movies (so predictable, but love them!), and have drank many cups of hot cocoa. But today, Christmas Eve, the actual holidays begin.

It is so easy to get caught up in all of the decorations and gifts that the real meaning for the season can be forgotten. Actually I read something recently that said something like “Jesus isn’t the reason for the season, he is the reason for your life.” In reflecting upon the reason we take this time out each year to celebrate Jesus’ birth, a Facebook friend of mine shared the following Christmas poem with me, and now I want to share it with you.

(Images were created by me to go along with the poem)
