Sunday Pause (Paws)

Does anyone remember this cartoon? One of my favorites!

Fred, Wilma, Barney, Betty, Pebbles, Bamm Bamm, and let’s not forget, Dino!

Three things I remember about Dino their dinodog; he was purple, a very large pet, and he always knocked over Fred when he came home! 🙂

It’s Sunday, a day to relax! So whether you remember the show or don’t even know what the show is, kick back, press play, and enjoy the song “Let The Sunshine In” sang by Pebbles and Bamm Bamm. (I never realized it had such a great message.)

Three things about my cat, Cino, are; she doesn’t like to be picked up, she likes to sleep completely under blankets on the bed, on the couch, and on the floor, & she hides under the table when it’s time to brush her teeth.

Here she is hiding under the table while I am trying to coax her out with poultry flavored toothpaste.

Should A Pit Bull Have Any Less Rights Than Any Other Animal?

I just recently saw in the Facebook Newsfeed a post about pit bulls being outlawed in Montreal. Not only outlawed, but euthanized, simply because they are pit bulls. Here is the video I saw.

This is not OK. Animals are what we make them into.

There is a petition you can sign to help! Here is the link to it:
Help Save an Animal’s Life

I signed it and here is what I wrote:

I respectfully ask that you consider that pit bulls are what people make them into. They are living creatures created by God. They do not ask to be beaten, used for bait, or thrown into a dog fight. If you were, wouldn’t you be a bit aggressive too? Go after the humans doing this to these animals and please HELP these animals at our mercy.

I feel it is important to be kind & respectful when fighting for animals! Yelling, swearing, or being violent does not get people to listen, therefore you are not helping at all. So, if you do sign the petition (and I hope you do), please be respectful.

This Tuesday’s Tale

tuesday-tales-little-picTWO DOGS THAT MADE IT THROUGH A FIRE

This is a tale about a fire that occurred while the family was away for a few hours. (These are people I know)

It was a Saturday afternoon; he arrived home after his band had just finished performing at a local event. He opened the door to their house from inside the garage; there was nothing but a sheet of black in front of him. He couldn’t see a thing. Frozen by the shock of it, his neighbor ran to help. This neighbor watches their two dogs often, so he knew they were inside. He ran in and started opening doors until the two dogs came running out of one of the rooms and then ran outside.

She was driving home from watching her husband’s band perform when all of a sudden the phone rang and when she picked it up…”Our house is on fire” was what she heard on the other end.

Sunday Pause (Paws)

It’s Sunday, a day to rest! So pause from the busyness of life. Kick back, relax, and enjoy these precious animals doing just that! (turn up the sound)

The most precious pictures I get of my sweet Cino, is when she is sleeping.

FBI Will Begin Tracking Cases of Animal Abuse

Of course, as an animal lover and a voice for them, the first thing I thought with the prompt “bus” was “abuse.” Although, it is not a fun subject and I realize a lot of people want to keep their head in the sand about it, because it is hard to deal with, it is still reality. So, the first thing I want to say about the following article I have linked in my post is…Hallelujah! It’s about time!

I saw this article in my Newsfeed on Facebook. I recently wrote a post about this very dog they are showing, so it caught my attention. Although revisiting the article on this poor precious dog made me sad, I felt such excitement of the hope and step forward for animals!

There has been studies done on the link between animal violence and human violence for a while now. I wrote an article about this that I submitted to “The Editor” of my local newspaper and it was published. Some of the article is in the post I am speaking of which you can read here.

The future of animals being treated, as they deserve, falls on children. I have a (not as heavy) post you can read here discussing this and it also has some adorable photos of children and animals!

Steps forward for animals like this one where the FBI will be tracking animal abuse cases, (even if the goal is for the benefit of humans, the animals will benefit too-yay!) gives me encouragement to keep on keeping on helping and fighting for God’s precious animals!

Look At Those Cute Faces

The reason I dedicate myself to helping animals so much is because there are already so many people who dedicate their lives to hurting them.
~Unknown

The above quote is the main reason why I have this blog. I want to help animals by spreading the word and connecting with others. We are their voice and animals indeed are feeling beings too.

Here are pics friends have sent in for me to use on my blog. I thought I would showcase the ones I have used so far along with a link to the post the picture was used on. That way, if you missed a post, you can click on the link and check it out now.

Enjoy these adorable furry friend faces!

A TALE ABOUT A DOG NAMED HACHIKO

cino-finally-home2nerdnomads.com

Eizaburo Ueno, professor in agriculture science at Tokyo University, had long wanted a pure bred Japanese Akita dog. He had looked for the perfect Akita puppy for a long time, until one of this students encouraged him to adopt Hachiko, from the Odate city in Akita prefecture.

Hachiko, or Hachi which became his nickname, and his new owner soon became best friends, and Eizaburo loved his dog above all and treated him as his son. The two of them were inseparable.

As Hachiko grew older, he started to see his owner off to work in the morning at the Shibuya Train Station, in central Tokyo, and went to pick him up at the station in the afternoon when he returned from work.

On May 21, 1925, only two years after Hachiko was born, Hachiko was as usually sitting by the exit at Shibuya train station waiting for his dear Eizaburo. But his owner never showed up…..
