Hello all! I was nominated for the One Lovely Blog Award by Crystal from Welcome To Crystal’s Site (Originally Country Living). This is the first nomination for a blogger’s award for me, so I am not exactly sure what this is all about. It seems that it is bloggers recognizing each other and letting them know that you enjoy and appreciate their blog. So if I have it right, then thank you Crystal. I appreciate it.
Many of you know that I started this blog as a project for school while earning my Web Design Certificate. After I finished school I didn’t continue with blogging very regularly, I think mainly because I was so sick of being on a computer (I was on it at work and then at night for school for a few years), but then one day I realized that maybe I was onto something.
I have always considered myself to be, I guess you could say, lost in this world. Never quite figuring out what I wanted to do, but I always dreamt it would be something with animals. For me it wasn’t to be a veterinarian, a zookeeper or anything like that. I knew it was some kind of advocacy; fighting and standing up for animals. I just couldn’t figure it out. That’s when I realized my blog could be something. While it isn’t a “job”, it is a way for me to do what I love; to help animals, spread the word, and connect with other animal lovers. The word “test” can be thought of in so many contexts. Here are my thoughts on test as I feel they relate to my current journey.
I started this blog as one of my assignments when I was back in school for Web Design. So this was one of my tests in learning to customize a template.
I didn’t post on a regular basis until just this past August. I have been testing different content on my blog to see what people are most interested in. I feel my patience has been tested in the time and dedication it takes in learning how to connect with other bloggers and in getting a new blog introduced out there in blogging world. (You mean I can’t have immediate over night success!)
I am having a big problem that I really need resolved. I am a new blogger and I really want to make connections out there, but I am losing a lot of opportunities because of this issue. Here is what is going on, maybe you can help.
When I am visiting another person’s blog, I see this at the bottom of their post along with a number of comments made by others…
Pretty typical, right?! But when I write a comment and then click the “Post Comment” button, it either appears right away, appears and says “waiting approval”, or completely disappears. Of course, the result varies depending on what blog I am on. What I am concerned about, obviously, is when they just disappear.
Some other bloggers have told me they have found my comments in their spam. Some said they never got anything from me. I have been trying to figure this out for weeks and am getting nowhere. I tried contacting WordPress, but there is a message that says they are working on improvements or something for the next 2 weeks, so it sounds like there is no support for 2 weeks.
If anyone has had anything similar like this happen to them or has any ideas or suggestions for me, please let me know. It would be so appreciated!
