About Animals Are Feeling Beings Too

I am an animal lover and advocate! My mission in life is to help animals get the respect and care they deserve and God intended for them.

Dominion Over Animals…How Do We Interpret This?

I finally took some time this morning to read over the online debate another blogger participated in and shared with me. They were discussing all animals and what the bible says about them. The discussion started on the topic of elephants in circuses.

There is a lot of confusion out there about the bible and what God says about animals.

Genesis 1:26-Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

For one thing, it says “in our own likeness.” Does anyone believe God would abuse animals?

Some synonyms for the word “dominion” are: power, rule, superior. Who says “power”, “ruling”, or “superiority” is a bad thing, a ticket to harm? Why is that assumed? As loving and beautiful as God is, why wouldn’t it be assumed that it meant to care, provide, guide, teach, and protect? Continue reading

Time Is Precious

There has been a lot of illnesses and death around my circle lately. Families of co-workers, fellow bloggers, and even in my own family there have been some hard times.

It really makes you stop and think how precious time is.

Time has a way of getting away from all of us. There is never enough time. But as you get older, I think you get wiser and you realize what you should be spending your time on. Things that make you happy and things that matter...family, friends, making a difference, and time with our beloved pets.

This Tuesday’s Tale: Coolidge & Effie

The Tale of Coolidge & Effie

Coolidge was one of the rescued kittens from a litter that was found in a field. He was a shy and timid cat, uncertain of his new surroundings, when Lauren and her husband first brought him home. (Lauren’s description sounds similar to what I experienced with Cino when I brought her home). But the patience and love they seem to have had for Coolidge eventually created a beautiful bond.   Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): Cino in Black & White

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and take a break from the busyness!

I have been having fun playing with photographs lately. I decided to turn some of the photos of Cino into black & white photos. So this Sunday, I would like to share them with you. I hope you enjoy them. My favorite is the one of my hand and Cino’s paw.

The Tale of Google the Squirrel

This week’s tale is a fellow blogger’s post that I read and thought was so special, I knew it would be perfect for a Tuesday Tale.

The squirrel below was brought to Ron and his wife, Michelle, at only a few days old by some children who found her under a tree.

Photo taken by Ron at Ron’s Country Musings

Ron & Michelle cared for this squirrel themselves and, as you can tell from the photo below, they did a wonderful job! Continue reading

A few people shared some photos of their pets after the post had been published, so I am honoring them today along with a few videos that have incredible stories. I hope you enjoy! Continue reading

The Debate: What Do You Think?

Hello all! Cino sends you “Happy Weekend” wishes!

I have been rolling around all kinds of ideas in my head for quite a while trying to come up with a drawing/saying that expresses what I feel my blog is all about. I mean, I do feel the name of my blog says a lot, which is why I chose the name, but I want to do more. What do you think of the graphic below? Continue reading

Injured Bird

Birds are so fun to watch fly around, not to mention how enjoyable it is to listen to them sing. Cino also enjoys watching them out the window and does a funny ducking down into “attack” mode when they fly by. This Mother’s Day our family enjoyed watching beautiful birds out a “Bird Viewing” window at a cute store in a small town. There is no doubt birds are beautiful and fun to have around.

Unfortunately today, when I was driving home on my lunch break, I noticed a bird in the middle of the road. I noticed something else next to the bird and my first thought was Continue reading
