Sunday Pause (Paws): Are You Ready?

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and watch some football (if you’re into it).

It’s Super Bowl Sunday so here is a poem for you.

Do you like the game?
Are you really into it?
Putting all things aside
And got a comfy spot to sit

Snacks & drinks are ready
Friends & family gathered near
Everyone’s got their jersey on
And voices are ready to cheer

Even Butterfinger is ready to go
And he means business y’all
So there is only one question…
Are you ready for some football?

Sunday Pause (Paws): A Very Merry Christmas To You

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and enjoy the holidays!

It’s hard to believe tomorrow is already Christmas Eve. Time got away from me this year that I didn’t even send out Christmas cards. I have never done that before. Since it seems too late to send any out now I made one to post & share with all of my friends, family and with all of you. The picture of Cino & I is from a photo shoot a friend did months back. As you can see Cino LOVED it!

Things will be busy for the next few days for me as I am sure they will be for you. That’s why I am dedicating this Sunday’s post to wishing you a Merry Christmas. I hope you enjoy the photo and here is a poem I wrote. Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): Those Furry Little Christmas Helpers

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and appreciate our furry little helpers.

Last weekend I got together with some friends I have known since elementary school to do our Christmas cookie baking. One friend just adopted a new kitty, Asha, and she was the star of the night.

Sunday Pause (Paws): Friendship

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and be thankful for friends.

We all have our highs and our lows in life. If you read my post from last Sunday then you know I’m kind of at a low right now. But during this low I’ve been feeling love & support around me from some people that I didn’t even know cared. I don’t know where I’d be without them. I wrote the following poem as an outlet for what I’ve been going through and to express gratitude for the support.

WITH THE HELP OF YOUR FRIENDS

It’s an emotional journey
This thing called life
Sometimes filled with peace
And sometimes filled with strife

Chaos everywhere you turn
The world is not in a good place
Sometimes making it hard
To deal with challenges you face

Emotions are building up
You’ve kept them bottled up too long
You’re brought down to your knees
Trying to figure out what’s going wrong Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): It Might Be An Angel

its-sunday-aafbt

Time to kick back, relax, and enjoy some poetry.

I wrote a poem to go along with what I think is an adorable photo of Cino that I recently got with my new camera. I hope you enjoy it. 🙂

IT MIGHT BE AN ANGEL

When I look at that sweet face
I see an angel among this place
For me the word “just” doesn’t exist
Your needs are always high on my list Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): For the Word “Just”

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and today I would like to take a pause and look at the phrase “just.”

A coworker was telling me a story at work the other day and at one point she said how she talks to her dog to let her know she is leaving. Then came the words “I know it’s stupid, it’s just a dog.” I don’t know about you but I am so tired of hearing people refer to animals as “just” anything. So I came up with a list of what I think they are just

Just a creation of God
Just a loyal friend
Just a family member
Just a living being
Just a comforter
Just a stress reliever
Just a joy to watch
Just a joy to play with
Just someone to come home to

Just a snuggler
Just created BEFORE humans
Just improve their “owners” health
Just teachers of responsibility

Just LOVE!

Just a joy to watch

Here is what a Facebook follower friend of mine in her own words shared with me about her beloved cat Jasmine pictured above.

Jasmine chilling on the bed with me. I wonder if other people take pleasure in watching their pets enjoy themselves? From jumping on the bed and just enjoying each other’s company to watching her sniff the air whilst sat in the garden or getting her toys out the bowl I store them in and playing with them. I’m sure they do, but it often an unspoken pleasure of pet ownership when in comes to cats. But I enjoy watching my cat just enjoy herself around the house from sunbathing to cackling at birds out the window or sniffing the breeze.
