A Pet Is Family…For Life

Things are a-changin!
We’re in that in between time where summer is ending and fall is approaching. I’m noticing a small amount of leaves turning. But with the rain we are getting today those leaves are already falling off the trees and onto the ground.

I don’t mind this weather at all! I will be spending the night under a blanket on the couch with some tea and an apple candle burning. Ahhh…the small things can be so comforting.
What’s the weather like where you are?
Here I go again…two posts in one day.
Silly me, I did a post on cats today and then I found out it’s National Dog Day! So I created this image. 🙂

Once again, Happy Sunday! Oh, and Happy National Dog Day. Woof woof! Give your furry one an extra hug.
It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and consider extending a helping hand for a family & their dog.
I know this is a different kind of Sunday post from what I normally do but helping animals is my mission. When I read the post an old coworker had out there about her dog, Mack, I felt I had to try to help.

Her dog has been taken from her family and is currently at a boarding facility because of some incidences of him getting out of the house or yard and running up to people or other animals and scaring them. Continue reading
It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, grab a cup of coffee and read a little story…a little dream tale.
ONCE UPON A TIME…
A princess had been working hard at her day job and on her blog at night. She was also battling a bad cold so she was extra tired when she went to bed that night. Thoughts were going this way & that way in her head and soon she was in a dream.

She heard about a horse that had ran off and his family, who lived in Canada, was very worried. There was a sighting of the horse and the word was he was last seen standing in the middle of a parking lot. The parking lot was in a strip mall in the town the princess had grew up in. She knew this area well so she drove down there to try to help.
Meanwhile the family heard where their beloved horse was so the man jumped in his car and took off to go and get him.
Back at the strip mall the horse was now standing in the parking lot frozen like a statue. Continue reading
It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and come along with me to take a little closer look at a few of the animals I have featured in my banner.

Dana loves animals. Her family adopted Sarge when he was just a puppy and was a beloved family member for years. Here is Dana with him when she was 10 years old. Awww.

Meet “Silly Sarge”, the painting she did of him to honor his memory. Continue reading
It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and today I would like to take a pause and look at the phrase “just.”
A coworker was telling me a story at work the other day and at one point she said how she talks to her dog to let her know she is leaving. Then came the words “I know it’s stupid, it’s just a dog.” I don’t know about you but I am so tired of hearing people refer to animals as “just” anything. So I came up with a list of what I think they are just…

Just a joy to watch
Here is what a Facebook follower friend of mine in her own words shared with me about her beloved cat Jasmine pictured above.
Jasmine chilling on the bed with me. I wonder if other people take pleasure in watching their pets enjoy themselves? From jumping on the bed and just enjoying each other’s company to watching her sniff the air whilst sat in the garden or getting her toys out the bowl I store them in and playing with them. I’m sure they do, but it often an unspoken pleasure of pet ownership when in comes to cats. But I enjoy watching my cat just enjoy herself around the house from sunbathing to cackling at birds out the window or sniffing the breeze.
It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and celebrate dads!

They say a dog is a man’s best friend
But any animal is special in it’s own way
If you have that beautiful human & animal bond

Someone I know shared a very sad thing with me that happened to her son. I couldn’t believe it!
Her son, Elliott, who is in college was sharing a house with another guy. They got a dog together and Elliott became particularly fond of this dog. He became very close to him and as most people who care about their pets do, Elliott soon saw this dog as family. He played with him, bragged about him, and took pictures of him all the time.
Fast forward to eight years later, when one morning Elliott couldn’t find his dog anywhere. He was looking all over the house & yard. All he found was his collar on the kitchen table. He asked his roommate numerous times where the dog was but the roommate wouldn’t say anything. Becoming more alarmed, Elliott became frantic and started raising his voice and demanding to know what happened to him. His roommate finally admitted he had taken the dog to the vet in the middle of the night to be euthanized.
This was a healthy, happy, eight year old dog. His life was just ended and why? Because the neighbors complained he killed some of their chickens.
Celebrate me, celebrate you
Birthdays celebrate a birth
So celebrate your beloved pets
To show them what their worth
