Sunday Pawzing To Show Off Pets

It’s Sunday and it’s also “Pet Photo Day” or what I like to think of as simply “Show Off Your Pet Day.”

I have a video (instead of a photo) of Cino below where she is playing with her favorite toy mousey. I keep a basket of toys under a table in the living room. I only pull it out once and a while just to change it up. I pulled it out last weekend but didn’t get any toys out. A little while later there was Cino in the bin checking everything out and helping herself to the toys. After pawing, sniffing, and checking them all out the one she pulled out was her mousey. She loves her mousey! She was having such a good time tugging, biting, throwing, and pouncing on mousey that I quickly grabbed my phone and started recording. I didn’t start recording quick enough to get it all or the cutest part but I think us pet parents know how challenging that can be. At least you can see her and her favorite toy.

Later on she picked up mousey with her teeth and put it back in the bin. I mean, how adorable is that?! I’m disappointed I didn’t get that on video.

Let me know in a comment if you did a post on “Pet Photo Day” so I can check it out. I may even ask your permission to use the photo in one of my future posts.

I hope you enjoy your day. Happy Sunday!

Sunday Pawzing Not For What It Is But For What We Do

It’s Sunday and in the U.S. it’s a holiday!

Let’s face it we all love a holiday as this means time off work and a time to celebrate. But let’s take a look at how we celebrate. We spend time with family & friends, enjoy a meal together, maybe go to the lake or a park, play some games, have a few drinks, and when night falls light off fireworks. But did you know the incredible about of harm fireworks cause? I didn’t.

Growing up I always really enjoyed celebrating the 4th of July and one of the most exciting parts of the celebration was the fireworks. We would sit on the garage roof and have a perfect view of our neighborhood display. As we got older we would go to parks to watch them. They are definitely beautiful to watch and as they would go off my dad would always let out a big vocal “Ooooohh!!!” “Ahhhhhh!!!” Then we would all start doing it just to be silly.

It wasn’t until I researched it that I found out all of the harm fireworks actually cause. Continue reading

Sunday Pawzing To Just Hang Out

It’s Sunday! A great day to just hang out and get refreshed and recharged.

I‘ve had some time off this past week. It was time for Cino’s annual exam which is always a bit stressful. She, of course, doesn’t like it, and that makes it stressful for us too. We had to do curbside for the first time ever. It was weird but went just fine. We have an awesome vet! You can really see & feel that he genuinely cares about his patients and their parents. Believe me, I don’t say that lightly and wouldn’t say it unless I truly believed and felt it. It actually took at least a few years after bringing her there and getting to know them before I was able to see this was a good place with an incredible vet. My advice is to always do your research and choose wisely who you bring your pets to.

Cino got a clean bill of health and with that done I spent some time cleaning and organizing the office. It is hard to believe that one day I won’t have a bunch of junk sitting around the office. It’s the room things have gone in, since we moved here, that we are unsure of what to do with. Some things will go to Good Will and some things just need a storage spot. I have no idea how all of this stuff fit in the last place which was quite a bit smaller and yet here with a bigger space I can’t find a spot. 🙂 OK, so part of it is that I got really good at utilizing every nook & cranny at the old place. But here, I don’t want a bunch of packed to the brim closets where you can’t get at anything so I have been trying to slowly go through things and keep closets, and everywhere, as clutter free as possible. We sure do accumulate a lot of “stuff” don’t we?

Well today we are going to just hang around like my cousin’s cat is literally doing in the picture below. 🙂

Whatever you do today, I hope it’s a great day. Happy Sunday!

For The Love Of Cats

Finally! I was finally able to finish the video I was working on two weeks ago when I ran into all kinds of software/computer trouble. It so happens that today is Cat World Domination Day! So it worked out ok because what a perfect day to share it. 🐱

I put the video together in honor of a cat that was beaten on live video. Continue reading

Sunday Pawzing for Wildlife This Father’s Day

Hello all. Happy Sunday! This one is a lot more relaxing for me than last Sunday. I ran into all kinds of computer/software issues and never got to post what I had planned. I will be saving that post for another day. I am still having some trouble with where it all started…iMovie. I keep trying to update it but I don’t think it actually is. I don’t even necessarily care if it updates, I just want it to work and it wasn’t. I could create a movie but then when I would play it back it would be a blank black screen. It seems that this is a common problem many people have. One of the recommended solutions was updating it, which again, is where all of my troubles began. Maybe the next thing to try is uninstalling and reinstalling. I hate doing that because it seems like everything takes an eternity to download, update, install, etc., on an iMac. Another day maybe. For today I wanted to go ahead and take a break from that and share some pics I got on our family day. We celebrated Father’s Day (and a couple of belated birthdays).

We visited a wildlife sanctuary and it was a beautiful day to walk around and look at these magnificent animals. The elk were enjoying the weather too.

When we were directly in the sun it would get a bit warm so it was pretty tempting to want to join these guys in the water. 🙂

I was having a great time talking with the bison. Continue reading

Technology Exhaustion

Hello friends.

I put together a post for today and have ran into technology problems that have turned into an entire day long project.

To say the least I feel just as Cino looks…exhausted.

The problems are with my desktop computer where I do all of my artwork and blogging from. Not sure if they are fixed but it looks like that post and maybe others will have to be on hold for now. Ugh.

Sunday Pawsing to Discuss Candles/Scents & Our Pets

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back & relax. It is so nice to kick back with the scent of a nice candle but have you ever thought about how it affects our pets?

I have been working on replacing my candles since learning about how paraffin wax is not as healthy as a natural wax such as soy. It isn’t just unhealthy for us, it is also unhealthy for our pets.

I just recently got a new wax warmer from a Scentsy party my niece had. I absolutely LOVE the garden warmer.

I needed to get some wax melts for it and was researching online where I could get soy/natural ones. In the process of researching I read some information on scents that cats love & hate. Oh dear, now I had to worry about what scent I was getting too.

Sunday Paws: Great Helper

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back & relax.

Reading is one way of relaxing. Below is a conversation between Cino & I when I was reading last night.

Cino: What are you doing?

Me: Reading my book.

Cino: Ooooh…what’s that string looking thing?

Me: That’s the bookmark so I don’t lose my spot in the book.

Cino: I’ll chew on it for you so you don’t lose the bookmark. It sounds important.

Cino is such a great helper!

Do you have a great helper in your life? I’d love to hear about them.

Happy Sunday! We hope you have a great day.
