Sunday Pawzing Not For What It Is But For What We Do

It’s Sunday and in the U.S. it’s a holiday!

Let’s face it we all love a holiday as this means time off work and a time to celebrate. But let’s take a look at how we celebrate. We spend time with family & friends, enjoy a meal together, maybe go to the lake or a park, play some games, have a few drinks, and when night falls light off fireworks. But did you know the incredible about of harm fireworks cause? I didn’t.

Growing up I always really enjoyed celebrating the 4th of July and one of the most exciting parts of the celebration was the fireworks. We would sit on the garage roof and have a perfect view of our neighborhood display. As we got older we would go to parks to watch them. They are definitely beautiful to watch and as they would go off my dad would always let out a big vocal “Ooooohh!!!” “Ahhhhhh!!!” Then we would all start doing it just to be silly.

It wasn’t until I researched it that I found out all of the harm fireworks actually cause. Continue reading

Sunday Pawzing for Wildlife This Father’s Day

Hello all. Happy Sunday! This one is a lot more relaxing for me than last Sunday. I ran into all kinds of computer/software issues and never got to post what I had planned. I will be saving that post for another day. I am still having some trouble with where it all started…iMovie. I keep trying to update it but I don’t think it actually is. I don’t even necessarily care if it updates, I just want it to work and it wasn’t. I could create a movie but then when I would play it back it would be a blank black screen. It seems that this is a common problem many people have. One of the recommended solutions was updating it, which again, is where all of my troubles began. Maybe the next thing to try is uninstalling and reinstalling. I hate doing that because it seems like everything takes an eternity to download, update, install, etc., on an iMac. Another day maybe. For today I wanted to go ahead and take a break from that and share some pics I got on our family day. We celebrated Father’s Day (and a couple of belated birthdays).

We visited a wildlife sanctuary and it was a beautiful day to walk around and look at these magnificent animals. The elk were enjoying the weather too.

When we were directly in the sun it would get a bit warm so it was pretty tempting to want to join these guys in the water. 🙂

I was having a great time talking with the bison. Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): Word Search Fun On Love

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back and take a pause.

Puzzles are a great way to relax and my favorite kind are Word Search Puzzles. I created another one to share with you.

The message in the puzzle is centered around love. Love for all but focused on animals because Animals Are Feeling Beings Too.

I‘ve been feeling the love today for my birthday with many messages, texts, and phone calls from family & friends. It’s a rough year due to the pandemic and my injured ankle but I am feeling the love. 🙂

Well I hope you enjoy my Word Search Puzzle. Unfortunately, it is not an interactive online one. You can print it out or just do it on the screen. The puzzle can be clicked on so that you can enlarge it if needed. The answers/completed puzzle can be found in the link below the puzzle.

Let me know how it goes. Feedback is appreciated! Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): A Strange Christmas

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back & relax!

This has been a hard and strange year and Christmas was strange this year too. Our family didn’t get together because we are trying to remain safe during the pandemic. We celebrated by opening gifts from one another on Skype. It was nice but doesn’t begin to compare to being together.

Christmas always comes & goes so quickly. The poem below I wrote a few years back. I wanted to share it again.

CHRISTMAS IS NEAR…
It’s the most wonderful time of the year

People all around are so full of cheer
Bells that are jingling all the way
Songs a plenty about that special day
Children thinking about all of the gifts
Telling Santa what’s on their wish list
Trees decorated so beautiful & bright
That glow beautiful in the silent night
Going here & there travelers abound
Friends and family gathering all around
Candy canes and cookies galore
Mashed potatoes, gravy and so much more
Stockings stuffed with treats for Fido

So full they fall and land on the bible
Everyone stops and remembers the reason
That we celebrate this festive season
It’s not about Santa and his sleigh full of toys
But Jesus’s birth and to the world what joy!
So from me and even my little scrooge too
We wish a very Merry Christmas to you

Sunday Pause (Paws): For The Season

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back and relax.

But how much relaxing do we actually get during this time of year?!

Even with all the prep and work it is still my favorite time of year!

We wish you a blessed Christmas, however you may celebrate this year. 🎄

Happy Sunday!

Sunday Pause (Paws): Get Away From The Cliff Edge

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back and relax! But these days it may be harder to do that.

Anxiety is at an extremely high rate among individuals these days and can make people feel like they are standing on the edge of a cliff. I made the following image a few years ago but it sure is appropriate for 2020 with the additions of a pandemic, politics, and a whole lot more. Animals are great for anxiety. True little angels sent from heaven.

So without denying that there is a lot to feel concerned about right now, we still have to Continue reading
