Sunday Pause (Paws): Food Fun

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back and relax.

Who out there likes food? Just kidding. I think it’s safe to say we all do. Some of us like it a bit too much. 😁 But what kind of food we like is different.

I am a vegetarian and may some day be vegan. I have never been a big fan of meat, it always bothered me that I was eating an animal. About 5 years or so ago I decided I couldn’t do it anymore. I can’t eat what I advocate for. I always thought if I fought for humane treatment of farm animals that was good enough. But it’s not. I don’t believe we were meant to eat them and that we do and consider it “normal” is just part of the fallen world.

I am not trying to make any of you feel guilty. But I do hope you give some thought to it. There are many plant based and dairy free foods out there that are very delicious and that you can have a lot of fun with.

Today I wanted to share what I just recently discovered…the White Castle Impossible Slider, oh my….yum!

I haven’t eaten a White Castle in forever. But after trying this, I’ll be a more regular guest.

Have you tried it? Or any food with Impossible meat? If not, I challenge you! You’ll love it!

Happy Sunday!

Sunday Pause (Paws): Friends, Cats, & Hot Flashes

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and bake, bake, bake.

My two friends and I just had our third annual friends cookie making day. We have been friends since elementary school and we don’t see a lot of each other during the year so this is a really special time.

I like to try new recipes and this year not only did I try a new one but I made vegan cookies for the first time ever. You know I’m always thinking of animals! They were not easy to cut out so I settled for alot of mitten shapes. They aren’t the prettiest cookie either and a bit on the sweet side but still a decent cookie.

No Bake Chia Energy Bites

Hello all!

Last night while I was unpacking my groceries I realized I forgot to get the protein bars I usually get. Since I do not eat meat, I try to get protein in other foods. These protein bars are one way and it helps that they are really good! Just when I was thinking I would need to go back to the store I remembered a recipe I had that would be a good replacement.

Since I post recipes every now & then, I thought this would be a good one to share. It’s also very easy to put together.

NO BAKE CHIA ENERGY BITES

Ingredients:

1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons shredded coconut
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

I have never been much of a meat eater and now I don’t eat it at all. It can be challenging trying to find recipes that I like because it’s not like I want to sit around and just eat vegetables. In fact, there are a lot of vegetables I don’t even like.

I must say this recipe is da bom! Continue reading

I‘ve added another recipe to the Main Dishes on the “Vegetarian Challenge” page.

When I made these Quinoa Stuffed Bell Peppers, I didn’t put all of the ingredients in, I put in the things I personally like and kept out the things I don’t. I even made them in the toaster oven. These peppers are really delicious!
