Sunday Pause (Paws): For Those Gifts From God

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax and rap…yes I said rap! (Or just listen to a rap).

I wrote a poem not long ago
My niece said it read like a rap
She sees a new career in my future
Ehhh…I probably wouldn’t get one clap 🙂

But I do have a video of someone who can rap that I wanted to share with you. If this doesn’t show that animals are gifts from God then I don’t know what does.

Grab some Kleenex, wipe your tears, and go give your gift from above a hug.

Happy Sunday!

Sunday Pause (Paws): For Seniors

its-sunday-aafbt

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and put a spotlight on seniors.

November is “Adopt A Senior Pet Month” and I just couldn’t let November end without doing a post. But I wanted to do a post about seniors in general.

We start off this life depending on others to care for us and we often end this life depending on this very same thing. But there is a difference. When we’re a baby we’re seen as cute and lovable. When we’re old we’re often seen as not so cute and annoying.

But aging is the circle of life. Things WILL change.

Sunday Pause (Paws): For Girl Time

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and enjoy some silly fun.

I just had my third annual “Girl’s Day” last weekend and it was a blast.

(Cino was there too)

Version 2

Even though it is a lot of work entertaining, it is worth it. These are memories in the making. Continue reading

A Dog Forced In An Overhead Bin

Being an animal advocate I can’t pass by the hot topic right now concerning a precious dog who lost his life on an airplane.  This little 10 month old puppy’s life was lost tragically. A flight attendant forced passengers to put their dog in the over head bin. If you haven’t heard about this, the video below will explain.

Sunday Pause (Paws): Or Maybe Another Day

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back & relax.

Sundays are a great day to set aside for things like friends, family, doing things you enjoy, & rest. But sometimes it’s not just Sundays.

I got pretty sick this week and missed two days of work. I was pushing through the beginning of the week and I got to a point where I just knew, no more. I have to stay home and rest.

Sunday Pause (Paws): Music…It Moves The Soul

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and let some music take you away.

I watched the movie “August Rush” on Netflix recently and it moved me to tears. This movie is about a little boy who lives in an orphanage and he runs away to look for his parents. His parents are musicians and he is a music prodigy. Aside of the fact that the plot of the movie is incredibly heartwarming, the music they play throughout is beautiful! I found myself crying and filled with goosebumps at times. Music has a way of doing that doesn’t it?

We all have certain songs that really move us. One of mine is Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): Hello

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and take a break from the busyness of the week.

Cino wanted to start today with a little hello. (Turn up the volume)

The friendly word hello. We say hello when we answer the phone, when we meet someone, and as we pass by someone.

When you pass by someone in a hallway or on the street, do you think you should say hello? Continue reading

The Tale of Rocky and His Rescue From the Woods

rocky-from-webThe Animal Rescue Site

With fireworks soon to be going off all around, I thought it fitting to share this story about a senior dog who went missing after fireworks last year.

Rocky, a senior dog, was frightened by fireworks and ran off into the woods. His family had been searching for him for days when some loggers found him. Continue reading

I hope you were able to check out last week’s Sunday Pause (Paws) with all of the beautiful pets we honored that have passed on.

A few people shared some photos of their pets after the post had been published, so I am honoring them today along with a few videos that have incredible stories. I hope you enjoy! Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): Honoring Lost Pets

It’s Sunday!

Today I would like to honor some pets that have passed away. I have gathered some photos from Facebook submissions, fellow bloggers, friends, and family. All lives matter and losing a pet can be devastating. So this Memorial Day weekend, please sit back, relax, and enjoy the photos and videos of precious lives that are now in the arms of their creator.

I wrote a poem to start off this post. I hope you enjoy.

A pet is not just an animal
But a part of the family
Time shared with them
Seems to go by so rapidly

A bond so strong
Between human and animal
A life shared together
Makes loss hard to handle

There is no timeline for grief
Our pets are not forgotten
But in one’s own time
The pain may soften
