An Interview With Me

I recently was part of an interview with another blogger. I participated in this because it is so important to me to get my message out there. What is my message?…

To respectfully bring attention to the treatment of animals in our society, how this was not in God’s plan for HIS creatures, that animals are living, feeling beings, and that we need to speak up and help them.

You can check out the interview here. You may get to know me a little better. There are also links to some of my previous posts in the interview that you may have not had the chance to read. Continue reading

This Tuesday’s Tale: The Rescue Of A Stray Beach Dog

tuesday-tales-little-pic

The tale of Blue

This is the tale of Blue. She lived on the beach following people around begging for affection until one day somebody finally rescued her.

I am a big fan of stories about rescued animals and I have been finding out there a lot of them. This makes me really, really happy! The part that makes me sad is that it seems there were so many other people who just “left her.” We would never do that if we saw a child on the beach alone. Why is it “ok” to leave a dog, that apparently has no “pet parent”, by itself on the beach? Continue reading

A Freezing Dog…Not My Problem?

www.gohappiest.com

I didn’t plan a post tonight, but I came across this article and I was thinking…really? It’s that surprising?

The article is about a security camera catching a man going over to a stray dog out in the cold and giving him some food & taking off his own jacket to lay over the dog. Wonderful! This is a truly compassionate man.

This is the heading to the article: Continue reading

This Tuesday’s Tale: Kurly

This is a tale about a little toy poodle.

There was a couple that had three small children and decided it was time to bring a furry friend into the family. So, one day they all took a drive. The children were told that mom was stopping to get some yarn.

Mom went inside to find a litter of puppies so energetic, so full of wiggles & wags. There was one puppy that caught her eye and she knew he was the one. Mom said the puppy actually picked her. (It seems our pets choose us in most cases, doesn’t it?)

She carried the puppy close to her, hidden, so the children would think it was a black ball of yarn. Surprise! The three children were so excited! They loved this dog so much, especially the youngest one and he soon became the mom’s baby, her “other child.” Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws)

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and have some fun.

I am a huge fan of word searches and I can usually find them pretty fast. I have to admit on this one I was searching for longer than usual. I was looking on my small phone screen, but now that I see it on my computer and I know where it is, it seems so obvious.

I hope you enjoy looking for the word “dog.” Let me know if you find it and how long it took you. 🙂

Happy Sunday!

Sunday Pause (Paws): The Human & Animal Bond

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back & relax!

This Sunday I wanted to take a look at the human and animal bond. God created us both and it is my prayer that we live together with love and respect for one another.

I hope you enjoy looking through the images below showing exactly that!

U.S. Animal Protection Laws…We Need More Green

Here is where the United States is in the matter of “Animal Protection Laws.” As you can see from the map below, we need more green! This map is showing the United States, but there is work to be done for animals everywhere. Do you know what your current laws are?

This Tuesday’s Tale Is Your Story: Cinnamon & Shadow

The tale of Cinnamon and Shadow told by Jeanne

CINNAMON

CINNAMON

Cinnamon was technically my mother’s dog, but I was like the second mother to her. A lady I used to work for had a miniature poodle named Ginger, and when my mother saw her, she wanted one. When Ginger’s breeder had some more puppies, my mother got one. Amazingly, Cinnamon and Ginger had the exact same markings, only Cinnamon was a little bigger. I suppose that’s not all that surprising since their parents were the same, just from different litters (about 2 years apart). Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): Pet Photos Shared Slideshow

For this Sunday I decided to put together some of the photos that have been shared with me to use in posts on my blog thus far. A lot of them were used in “Tuesday Tales.” Visit my “Tuesday Tale” page to read about some of the animals pictured.

When you’re ready…sit back, relax, and enjoy looking at these adorable photos in the slideshow below (turn up the volume to hear some relaxing music while viewing). Continue reading

Different Views, But Mine Can’t Be Wrong

Why I Am So Passionate About Helping Animals & Spreading The Word

Eye rolls, laughs, arguments, and comments; I’ve experienced them all as an animal advocate.

Are animal lovers rare? How would you define an animal lover? Can you be an animal lover and not get involved with animal welfare issues?

My opinion is animal lovers are not necessarily rare. Most people love them and have a pet in their family; a dog, cat, bird, or hamster maybe. I think most people are just simply unaware of the cruelty going on out there.

But there is another side, there are those who wouldn’t harm animals, but see them as “just animals.” “Just animals!” Because they are not the same as us, does not mean they have any less right to be here and to be treated with respect. Animals feel pain if you hit them, they bleed if they are hurt, they need food & water to survive, they get happy, sad, scared, stressed, & sick. I’m not seeing a lot of basic need differences.
