Helping A Lost Pet

While driving , if you saw a dog or a cat wandering around alone, would you stop to help it? It is surprising how many people don’t.

A couple of my co-workers saw a puppy last night running in a very busy road. They said everyone was just driving by and no-one was even slowing down for the pup. Thank God for my co-worker’s compassion! They did stop and scooped him up and out of danger.

I‘ll never understand how anyone can see another living creature in danger, whether it be from traffic, starvation, other animals, weather, and even danger of other people, and not help it. It is one thing when it is wildlife running around (but still if they seem to be in danger, you should try to help), it is another thing if it is an animal such as a dog or cat. Obviously, these are domesticated animals and most likely someone’s lost pet.

A Spotlight On Pets

Hello! I have two adorable photos for two things going on this week.

First, it’s National Dog Week. A big THANK YOU to all of the furry babies who are so loyal and who are always there for us.

The cutie pie below is Bogey (photo taken by Tammy Taylor and edited by me).

Dog Fighting…How Cruel Humans Can Be

Dog fighting. So incredibly cruel and certainly shows us one of the worst sides of human beings. Here is a definition I found online: Dog fighting is a type of blood sport generally defined as two game dogs against one another in a ring or a pit for the entertainment of the spectators or the gratification of the dogfighters, who are sometimes referred to as dogmen.

Pitbulls (and other dogs) are taken and beaten into becoming angry aggressive dogs. Then they are thrown into a ring with another dog to fight it out. They most certainly are terrified, confused, and in pain. Humans call this entertainment. Animals who are in misery tearing each other apart and this is entertainment. Not only entertainment, but humans make money off of the bets on which dog will “win.” (None of the dogs “win.” This is a lose, lose situation for them) Continue reading

Tuesday Tales: No Longer Weekly

READ ALL ABOUT IT

Version 2

Hello all. As Cino is reading about above, I will be taking a break from weekly Tuesday Tales. In case, you do not know what my Tuesday Tales are, they are stories I share about animals on…well Tuesdays. These stories are from people I know, stories from the internet, my own stories, and stories from you out there. I will still do Tuesday Tales from time to time, just not weekly.

My intent is not to back off from my blog, but to free myself Continue reading

The Tale Of A Man Who Just Wanted His Dog Back

This is a story from 2014, but I have only seen it recently. It’s about a man named Pete and a dog named Buster. Sadly, when Buster was nine years old, Pete ran into financial trouble and lost his house. He knew it wasn’t good for Buster to live out on the streets, so he did what he felt was best for him.

This Tuesday’s Tale: Jack

Today we take a look back at Jack. Jack is a little dog that was found in a dumpster by a little boy. Sadly, this happens more than you think. Honestly, how can people be so cruel?

I wrote a tale about Jack back in October. Kathy, Jack’s pet parent, recently shared some new photos of Jack. I decided to share them with you and give you a link to Jack’s tale.

Below is Jack happy to have tummy time. 🙂

This Tuesday’s Tale: A Look Back

man-in-lake-with-dogHUFFPOST

Today I am looking back at an older Tuesday Tale of mine with some new thoughts and questions. If you have been following me for a while you may have read this post called “A Tender Moment Between A Man And His Dog.” It is about a beautiful relationship between a man (John) and his dog (Schoep). As Schoep got older and his arthritis kept him from sleeping, John would bring him to Lake Superior and hold him until he fell asleep in his arms in the water. That is John & Schoep pictured above. The picture alone speaks volumes!

This is such a beautiful story it is worth repeating. Check out the story on the Huffington Post here.

There are a few points we can take away from this story. Continue reading

This Tuesday’s Tale: A House Is Not A Home Without a Pet

The Tale Of Tammy and Her Love for Animals

Many of us can relate to feeling like our house is not a home without a pet. Well this is most certainly true for Tammy.

Tammy is a friend of mine and one of the reasons we get along is our shared love for animals! We have had a number of conversations where we expressed our mutual anger for those who harm animals. I have known her for about seven years or so and just in the time I have known her, there have been many pets she has given a home.

First we have Teesha who passed away in 2008.

This Tuesday’s Tale: Remembering Lisa

This is a bit of a different Tuesday Tale. It’s about a human being, but it’s also about a dog she loved.

Our family received some devastating news this past weekend. My sister passed away at only 53 years old. Her name was Lisa.

We are still on an emotional roller coaster and still have the funeral to come. I considered skipping this Tuesday’s Tale post, but writing is a healing thing for me, an outlet.

My sister was very sick, although her death was still unexpected. She had a hard time taking care of herself, let alone a dog. But when her friend would visit she would bring this little dog with. The dog would stay with my sister often while the family had various things going on and it seems Lisa had fallen in love with this little dog named Eli.

One Lovely Blog Award

https://daisymae2017.files.wordpress.com/2017/07/blog-award.jpg

Hello all! I was nominated for the One Lovely Blog Award by Crystal from Welcome To Crystal’s Site (Originally Country Living). This is the first nomination for a blogger’s award for me, so I am not exactly sure what this is all about. It seems that it is bloggers recognizing each other and letting them know that you enjoy and appreciate their blog. So if I have it right, then thank you Crystal. I appreciate it.

Many of you know that I started this blog as a project for school while earning my Web Design Certificate. After I finished school I didn’t continue with blogging very regularly, I think mainly because I was so sick of being on a computer (I was on it at work and then at night for school for a few years), but then one day I realized that maybe I was onto something.

I have always considered myself to be, I guess you could say, lost in this world. Never quite figuring out what I wanted to do, but I always dreamt it would be something with animals. For me it wasn’t to be a veterinarian, a zookeeper or anything like that. I knew it was some kind of advocacy; fighting and standing up for animals. I just couldn’t figure it out. That’s when I realized my blog could be something. While it isn’t a “job”, it is a way for me to do what I love; to help animals, spread the word, and connect with other animal lovers.
