Sunday Pause (Paws): It’s No Small Thing

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and talk a little bit about health…which is no small thing.

I don’t know about you but I think I worry about Cino’s health more than I do my own, and when it comes to those annual vet visits, well let’s just say Cino isn’t a happy camper. I have to trick her to get her into her carrier and when I do she is letting me know how she feels about that the whole way to the vet’s office. I know she is stressed out and that in turn makes me stressed out. But I am working on being more calm because I believe she can feel how I am feeling.

Then there’s who you are bringing your pet to. I love Cino’s veterinarian. At this last visit we were talking about how it seems many people don’t like their own people doctor very much. I am one of them but yet I keep going to them. When it comes to Cino I would never just keep going. Who and how Cino is taken care of is no small thing to me.vetrinarian-your-pet-aafbt

Sunday Pause (Paws): Imagining

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and let our imaginations run free.

Imagining is not just about make believe. It can also be about experiencing something that is yet to happen.

We can imagine while we’re driving to a restaurant a big juicy veggie burger (ha! gotcha there with the “veggie” part, didn’t I?). By imagining it we can see it, get excited about it, and even just about taste it.

If we have a speech to make we can imagine ourselves sweating in front of the group and forgetting most of the words.

Sunday Pause (Paws): For Farm Animals

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and take in the truth, even if it may be difficult.

I like to try to keep most of my Sunday posts more on the light side. But my blog is about being a voice for animals. So, I apologize, but today I am writing about a serious topic…the treatment of farm animals.

It came across my Facebook Newsfeed about the undercover investigation at Fair Oaks Farms and the abuse of calves there recorded on video. I couldn’t bring myself to watch the videos. I got the gist from all of the headlines and comments.

Abuse of farm animals is not uncommon. They get away with it because it happens behind closed doors. We see the “happy cow” commercials, but I don’t think there are a whole lot of actual happy cows on factory farms. Even the word “factory” gets me. Animals are not objects to live in a factory. God made them to live, play, graze, move, and BE with other animals. He didn’t create them for abuse and mistreatment by his other creation…us. This has to stop!

Sunday Pause (Paws): Fun With New

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and enjoy new things.

Isn’t it fun when you get something new? New furniture, a new haircut, a new car, etc. It’s even more fun when it’s something you can play around with.

I just got a new phone and I’m spending WAY too much timing playing around with it to get to know all of the things it can do.

I‘m especially excited about the camera. Here are a few of the very first photos I took with it.

We were taking a little walk in an area we love going to that’s by a river. We were shocked when we saw how flooded the usually beautiful walking and sitting area was. The water came way up into where the picnic tables and benches are. Notice the geese lying on the picnic table relaxing and catching some sun. It’s not bothering them. 🙂
