About Animals Are Feeling Beings Too

I am an animal lover and advocate! My mission in life is to help animals get the respect and care they deserve and God intended for them.

Tuesday Tales: No Longer Weekly

READ ALL ABOUT IT

Version 2

Hello all. As Cino is reading about above, I will be taking a break from weekly Tuesday Tales. In case, you do not know what my Tuesday Tales are, they are stories I share about animals on…well Tuesdays. These stories are from people I know, stories from the internet, my own stories, and stories from you out there. I will still do Tuesday Tales from time to time, just not weekly.

My intent is not to back off from my blog, but to free myself Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): For The Wounded

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, pray, and think of others.

Today would you consider taking a pause for the wounded?

Many are wounded, people and animals alike. 100% why I have this blog going is mainly to bring awareness to the sad fact that there are so many “wounded” animals. Whether it is because of abuse, neglect, carelessness, or simply because people don’t see them as living, feeling beings.

Wounded obviously means more than just physical. We (& animals) are wounded inside too. Sometimes spirits are crushed, feelings are hurt, and sometimes its a mental health issue.

There is the current devastation of Hurricane Harvey. No doubt there is and will be many wounded from this, physically and emotionally. Please keep the people and animals affected by this in your prayers. Continue reading

This Tuesday’s Tale: Henry

The Tale Of Henry The Cat &
The Woman Who Loved Him

unnamed

Photo taken from Tiya Ivy

I came across this post and was so moved by it, I had to share. Tiya Ivy wrote this post after the tragic death of her cat, Henry. She poured her heart out about the pain she was in over Henry’s death and how it happened.

Here is a paragraph from Tiya’s post:

“You see, Henry wasn’t just a run of the mill house cat. He wasn’t just a fixture in the background of our home that came in for feeding and kept to himself. He was an ever-present, loving and very involved member of our family. The night he died, his final act in this world before sneaking past my husband’s feet to get out far too late that evening, was to calm our 4-year-old daughter (who was having a meltdown because she was overtired and didn’t want to go to bed) by laying peacefully beside her until she finally drifted to sleep – as was his way. Every time I had a migraine, he never left my side until the storm had passed, even when I was puking my guts up and writhing in agony. When he came for a cuddle, he didn’t just lie next to you, he insisted on having his paw held. Despite the numerous times they certainly deserved it, he never once raised a claw to either of our girls. The amount of times he would make us laugh on a daily basis is innumerable. He was the physical embodiment of love and patience. He gave us everything he had to give and your actions robbed us of the chance to thank him for choosing to share his life with us before he left this world.” Continue reading

Cino in the Tunnel

This post was a last minute thought, but I have been getting some pretty good photos of Cino in her tunnel lately. I thought I would share them because I think they are pretty cute! I hope you think so too!

Cino likes to switch where she sleeps every few months. She moves from one her beds to the next (she has two beds), to my our bed, to a blanket on the floor, to her climber, and to the tunnel. I guess she gets bored easy and likes variety. 🙂 When she sleeps on her climber she usually sleeps on the middle ledge, but lately she has been sleeping in the tunnel.

And there you have it!

Hope to see you tomorrow. I’m excited about tomorrow’s Tuesday Tale, mostly for the topic and hopefully the conversation it will bring. 🙂

Sunday Pause (Paws): For Family

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax and spend some time with family.

For this post, I have included pictures of just a few of my family members. They are photos I have taken recently while spending time with them. (Note: The photos of my parents didn’t have the greatest quality, so I did a lot of playing around with them and decided to turn them into more of “artwork” type photos. That is why they look as they do.)

My mom and I recently had the most enjoyable time going for a walk by a man-made body of water. We found a swing to sit on and we just kicked back, relaxed, and enjoyed the view while sipping on a Chai Latte from Starbucks (my favorite and I mean FAVORITE drink).

This Tuesday’s Tale: Pete & Buster

The Tale Of A Man Who Just Wanted His Dog Back

This is a story from 2014, but I have only seen it recently. It’s about a man named Pete and a dog named Buster. Sadly, when Buster was nine years old, Pete ran into financial trouble and lost his house. He knew it wasn’t good for Buster to live out on the streets, so he did what he felt was best for him.

Sunday Pause (Paws): Hello

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and take a break from the busyness of the week.

Cino wanted to start today with a little hello. (Turn up the volume)

The friendly word hello. We say hello when we answer the phone, when we meet someone, and as we pass by someone.

When you pass by someone in a hallway or on the street, do you think you should say hello? Continue reading

This Tuesday’s Tale: Jack

Today we take a look back at Jack. Jack is a little dog that was found in a dumpster by a little boy. Sadly, this happens more than you think. Honestly, how can people be so cruel?

I wrote a tale about Jack back in October. Kathy, Jack’s pet parent, recently shared some new photos of Jack. I decided to share them with you and give you a link to Jack’s tale.

Below is Jack happy to have tummy time. 🙂

Walk Away Or Fight Back?

Dakota

The cat in the photo above is my cousin’s cat, Dakota. She captioned this particular photo “The Mighty Hunter.” This seemed perfect for this unplanned post.

Dakota is watching a bird in a bush but wasn’t putting a lot of effort into trying to go after it. When my cat, Cino, sees a bird her posture immediately changes to what looks like “attack” mode. There is a choice they have to make, attack or sit back and let it go.

Which choice do you make when you encounter a rude person? Do you attack and fight back or do you calmly sit back and let it go? Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): Just A Rose

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and enjoy the beautiful things in life such as a picture of an adorable dog holding a rose in his mouth and a good poem. I happen to have both of these for you today.

Sammy

The poem is actually not mine. It is from Colin Chappell’s new book of poetry called “Just Thinking.” It’s called “Just a Rose” and in the video below you will hear Colin reading it. I love his accent! Continue reading
