It’s Sunday! Time to kick back and relax. We can take a break but must never stop.
This past week I was in a conversation with a coworker about why I do animal advocating. I don’t even remember how we got on the topic. I just remember telling her about a video on animal experimentation I watched many years ago. I won’t get into the details but I will say that when I told her one thing I saw them do to a dog she was horrified and said “What?! Why would they do that?!” My response…..”EXACTLY!”
Whatever it is you feel is wrong in the world, stand up, be courageous, and make a change.
It’s been very chilly and gloomy lately here. It’s hard to be motivated and, once again, I was drawing a blank in creating a post for today. I don’t always have something to say. Luckily sometimes nature speaks for itself. I saw a bunch of birds flying around the trees and wooded area outside my home. They were chirping away and seemed to be playing…flying from one tree to another, then flying around some more, and again, landing on a tree or the grass. It was so fun to watch. I was trying to get a picture but it was NOT easy. Somehow I managed to get the picture of the bird below about to take off. It isn’t the best quality because it was a very tiny bird, a cloudy day, and I had to zoom way in. But I still was very happy to have gotten it. I actually didn’t even know I had captured it. I didn’t see the bird open its wings when I was snapping the pictures. It was when I was reviewing the images on my camera that I saw it. It was a pleasant surprise.
Fall is my favorite season. It’s just too short! I know any time now all the leaves will be completely turned and off the trees. Not only that but the weather is going to get very chilly before we know it.
So I’ll take the lesson from Cino and take it easy and enjoy the warmth of the sun and the beautiful colors while I can. Pets are such great examples of slowing down and enjoying every moment.
Today we’re doing just that. We’re meeting a friend at a park. I hope to get some pics of the leaves and trees. What are your plans?
The most beautiful time of the year Autumn is once again here Take a walk and enjoy the changing trees Under your feet hear the crunch of the leaves Feel the warm sun among the cool breeze Soak it in because soon comes the time to freeze

The definition of the word “time” when used as a verb is plan, schedule, or arrange when (something) should happen or be done. Obviously we need to go by time to be at work, meetings, appointments, events and so on. But today I am looking at the words “when things should happen.”
I was looking through some old piles of papers, notes, cards, etc. in my office and came across some of the cards I received when my sister suddenly passed away a few years back. For quite a while I couldn’t look at old pictures of her or see her name come up in a Facebook memory without breaking down and crying. While it still makes me sad, and sometimes I still can’t believe it’s real that she is actually gone, time has begun to heal my heart.
Speaking of my office, it is still a mess. I haven’t done anything in there for a few months or more. But this weekend I decided to try to weed through some more of it. I am taking my time with getting it in order and decorated because I don’t want to rush and just throw things in closets or just anywhere. I want to throw away whatever I can or bring items to Goodwill that I no longer will use. I want it to be somewhat organized so I can utilize things better and have the room and space for plans that I would like to bring to pass for my blog and animal advocacy. Continue reading →
