Sunday Pause (Paws): Birds & Nature Pulling It All Together

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back and relax.

I‘m working on pulling together a few of the rooms in our new place. The pics in the collage are some of the main items and color scheme I am going with for a bedroom. It’s funny because I’m thinking when it’s all done it might be my favorite room and it started off my least favorite.

I love the beauty of nature and the beautiful beings that live in it. I’m enjoying the bird decorative items and they inspired this poem. Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): The Butterfly And The Breeze

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and admire nature such as a beautiful butterfly or a fresh breeze that can do wonders for the soul .

To me one of the most relaxing things is to sit outside when there is a breeze. I’ll even close my eyes and just focus on it. There is something about it that is so comforting, not only to provide coolness when it’s hot out, but comfort for the soul.

Today is the second anniversary of my sister’s death and I remember when a breeze (and a butterfly) comforted me when I was grieving the loss. I wrote a poem about it.

The Butterfly and the Breeze

Their beautiful and colorful wings
Take them high and low, they are free
Fluttering all around us
It is not an uncommon thing to see

But I know on this one day
It was not just a butterfly
In my confusion and dismay
It was my sister stopping by

She flew by me then landed Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): For Autumn

It’s Sunday! A time to kick back, relax, and pause for change.

Change can be something we are excited about or scared of. Change can be good and it can be bad. When it comes to season changes this can also be good, bad, or exciting, depending on how you look at it. Well right now we are smack dab right in the middle of my favorite season…autumn. This change is good and so beautiful!

I have gone on a few day trips lately and tried to capture some of the beauty of autumn. We aren’t having our best year for leaf colors, but it’s still out there.

I ran across this on a sidewalk in a town I was visiting. I thought it was perfect for this post.

Sunday Pause (Paws): Take A Look Around

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and notice what’s around you.

Before I begin this post, I just wanted to mention that each one of these pictures were taken by me over this past week (except for the very last image). Some of them were taken with my phone which takes really bad pictures. They would have just been bad quality pictures if I left them alone, so I had fun playing with them and making each one look different.

Just in this past week I have seen a lot of beauty around me. From the flowers above to the beauty in nature as seen in the photos below.  Continue reading

This Tuesday’s Tale: Odin

The Tale of Odin as Told by Irene

Odin 3-sizechange

Odin is usually a happy boy at 4 years old. He loves our long walks in nature, where he can run free without his leash. He was early taught not to hunt, so when he meets a rabbit, he just stands quiet and lifts one paw. Then I tell him, that the rabbit lives here, just go on straight and he listens. This is so well acted of him, which gives himself more freedom, while we are out in nature. Continue reading

One Beautiful Video

D0 you appreciate nature? Check out the video below. This is my
favorite song! I can not listen to it without crying. The part that gets to me is the chorus “I see the Lord seated on the throne, exalted, and the train of his robe fills the temple with glory, and the whole earth is filled, and the whole earth is filled, and the whole earth is filled with his glory.” I envision it every time and it is overwhelmingly beautiful to me. I think of the pain in the world, including animals suffering, and then I think of the train of his robe touching earth and I get overwhelmed. This video represents what I envision when I listen to this song, how beautiful everything is with God in it, how things were meant to be! There are some beautiful creatures in this video too!
