Sunday Pause (Paws): Father’s Day During Quarantine

It’s Sunday and it’s Father’s Day!

We’re thinking of dad and a bit sad that we are not together with him this year due to the virus.

But we’re still celebrating here at AAFBT with a Happy Father’s Day wish to all of the dads, pet dads, and those who are celebrating with their dad. Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): Dream Of A Kind World

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back and relax. That is definitely what we have planned for today! But first….

We wanted to peek in to say hi
A quicker post and here is why

We spent the day painting this
And now we simply wish

To take a nap, body all curled

Sunday Pause (Paws): Pets Are Great Examples

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and put those five senses into gear.

There is a lot going on but we still need times to take a breath and ground ourselves again. Animals are such great examples for us in this and in so many ways, aren’t they?! Do you ever watch them play or when you’re walking them? So carefree.

I wrote a little poem for today. I hope you enjoy it.

OUR FIVE SENSES

Surrounded by a bed of roses
Enjoyable fragrance filling our noses
Feeling the warmth of the sun in the sky
We see beauty all around we can’t deny
Everything in nature seems to glisten
Be still, close your eyes, and just listen
From the green grass to the blue sky above
Through it all we’re getting a sweet taste of love

Happy Sunday!

We’re All Lamenting

Hello all. I hope this post finds you all well, healthy, & safe.

A while ago when this pandemic first began I had posted that I had so much to say but couldn’t form the words to say it. I am still feeling that way but thought I would give it a shot. Expressing yourself through writing is very healing. It is the reason I like to write poetry and it is one of the reasons I blog, as it may be the reason for many of you.

The reason I decided to give it a try today is because of the past few weeks LIVE service messages. They were about how we are all going through a time of lamenting. Though in this time of lamenting we may be ignoring the process of healing. We all want things to get back to “normal” as quickly as possible. We want to get from A to Z as quickly as possible.

People are dying, committing suicide, fighting, abuse is prevalent (we hear about in domestic cases but I’m sure the animals/pets are suffering terribly too as we know many farm animals are), crime is up, we’re experiencing job loss and financial crisis. To top it off Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): Celebrate Every Life

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back & relax. For me it’s time to pause and celebrate. It’s Cino’s birthday! Well, actually it was yesterday.

Every life is worth celebrating because every life matters. 🥳

We wish you a Happy Sunday!

Sunday Pause (Paws): Celebrate Them Even If You Can’t Celebrate WITH Them

It’s Sunday! It’s Mother’s Day! 💐Time to let them know how much they mean to us.

This Mother’s Day is quite different for a lot of us though. We can’t actually celebrate with them. 😒

But…we can still celebrate them.

Pet moms…you’re not forgotten!

Happy Sunday! Happy Mother’s Day!

Sunday Pause (Paws): Caring Doesn’t Stop

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back & relax. Me…I’ve been taking a pause to think about, SURPRISE, animals!

Seriously though, during times like these I sometimes wonder…what do  others think of me because I’m worried about animals during a human crisis? People are dying, losing their jobs, social distancing, etc. I wonder if they are thinking who cares about animals?

But this affects animals too. People are dumping their pets or giving them up because they lost their job and can’t provide for them any longer. Or some are worried they will catch the virus from them.

Factory farm animals…well let me start off by saying I really do not like them. The fact that they are called a “factory” farm in itself shows no living being should be subjected to a life there. I just read about a bunch of chickens that were loaded up, gassed, and then Continue reading
