Times like these bring out the best and, unfortunately, the worst in people. Just remember we’re all going through this, we’re in this together, be helpful, and be kind.

Sunday Pause (Paws): Just Hang Out
It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and hang out with those we love.
Here we are again it’s another Sunday
And we’re stopping by to say hey
So why don’t you grab a chair and sit
So you and I can catch up a bit
Here it has been extremely hot
So we have been sweating a lot
Mom’s busy hoping for a new home
How nice for more room for me to roam
We mourned the anniversary of the death of mom’s sis
No matter how much time passes she is always missed
Planning time to get together with those we hold dear
Catching up on adventures & celebrating another year
But today we’re just hanging out
Because that’s what this day is all about
So that’s what’s up with us, how about you?
We’d love to hear what you’ve been up to
Love, Cino❤️

Sunday Pause (Paws): Trying To Fit In
It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and do some thinking.
I‘m not sure how long you have been blogging but have you ever noticed how sometimes you seem to have a lot of interaction (or Likes) on your posts and sometimes hardly at all? When it is hardly at all it makes you start to wonder why. Is it that your blogging community is busy and just not seeing your posts or maybe they just don’t like that particular post?
Some of you have been with me for a while on this blogging journey. You know that I have changed things along the way as probably many of us have. Lately it kind of seems like I am not getting a lot of interaction. It made me start wondering if it could be because I have been using cartoon images a lot more often and not writing as much. I started thinking about that and if I should try to change my posts. But I realized I really don’t want to, at least not right now, because I am finding joy in creating the cartoons.
Thinking about all of this made me also think about how we worry about our popularity or if we are fitting in. Not just with social media but with everything. But is that really what matters?
Moms Are The Best
It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and wish all the moms out there a wonderful day!
I chose this picture of my mom because it really does truly portray her. She can be so silly and that is what we love about her!
My mom is a courageous, strong, beautiful, independent woman. She has been through so much…divorce, cancer, and even the death of her own child (just to name a few). Yet she has always been an example of how in tough times you press on. Continue reading
Do You Have A Disaster Plan That Includes Your Pet?
It seems really slow out in blogging land lately. But I still wanted to share this bit of info anyway for those who do happen to stop on by my blog because it is so important.
Today is National Animal Disaster Preparedness Day.
Do you have a disaster plan that includes your pet? If it’s not safe for you, it’s not safe for them. Here is a link with some preparedness tips: redcross/petdisasterpreparedness.
Sunday Pause (Paws): Hello “Be Kind To Animals” Week
It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and welcome the first day of “Be Kind To Animals Week”.
I wanted to honor this recognition of animals with this Sunday’s post. But we at AAFBT think you should always be kind to animals. In fact we now have a mission statement and here is Cino as “Animal Paladin” to introduce it to you…
I like to say to help animals it takes me, it takes you, it takes WE and that is so true. Here is a great example. A coworker of mine was dropping her son off at school and there on the edge of the sidewalk was a little duck in her words “crying.” He was laying on his side crying and shivering Continue reading
Sunday Pause (Paws): Happy Birthday To You
It’s Sunday ! Time to kick back, relax, and wish a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to those in heaven.
Losing a loved one…nothing is harder.
I just got together with a friend who lost her dog that she had for 15 1/2 years. I often hear from people that they know I will understand. It’s sad that not everyone can understand how a pet is family and losing them can be as devastating as the loss of a human.
This coming Tuesday is my sister’s birthday. It will be her second birthday in heaven. She would have been 55 years old. I still have to pinch myself and ask if she is really gone. But instead of feeling overwhelmed by sadness, I am going to celebrate her.
The image I made below is for all of us celebrating a loved ones (human and animal) birthday in heaven.
Sunday Pause (Paws): It’s The Best News Ever
It’s Sunday…Easter Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and receive not good news…but the BEST NEWS EVER.
Easter is celebrated with egg hunts and sharing baskets filled with goodies. But this isn’t what Easter is about. It’s not about a rabbit, it’s about what Jesus did for us.
I don’t listen to the radio all that often Continue reading
Sunday Pause (Paws): Animal Paladin
It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, read a little poem and meet Cino as dun, dun, dun, dun…Animal Paladin!
(In case you don’t know, because I didn’t, Paladin means leading champion of a cause, hero, devoted to kindness.)

The dogs, cats, lions, and apes
Intended by God to be blessed,
And instead are being oppressed

If You See It, Don’t Ignore It
With this week’s insanely cold temperatures I worried every day & night about any animals out there. I can’t stand the thought of a dog hooked to a chain, a bunny stuck in a cage, or cat being left outside to endure the temperatures when there is a warm house feet away. When people choose to leave their pets outside during these dangerous temperatures, let’s face it, the animal’s life is at stake.
If you see this…do something.
