I personally wasn’t able to relax for a few days this week. We ordered a new couch in October and had received notification this past week that it was in and the delivery company would be in touch. A little back story on this…
I do not purchase big items very often and when I do I usually research for hours, or even days, before making a decision. Our old couch was over 20 years old. So in my search I fell in love with a couch I saw online that a friend shared with me but knew it would be too big for our space. We already had a pretty big couch and this one would be bigger. So I kept looking online and stopping in some furniture stores. There it was, one I thought would work. It was the color I wanted and had the buttons on them I liked on the other couch that would be too big. I spoke with a sales person about my biggest concern which was delivery and getting it in our second floor home. The sales person said this couch has been having some trouble getting in to homes so she proceeded to grab a tape measure and we discussed it more. I still had doubts so she brought me to the manager who also measured, looked up the information on the computer, and told me what measurements the door and the ceiling needed to be for them to get it in. I went home and carefully measured everything, spoke with the manager again, and told him I was concerned about ordering it if there were doubts because we couldn’t afford a restocking fee just to not have a couch in the end. He was convinced it would be fine so I ordered it.
It’s Sunday! Time to kick back & relax and seriously you all we need to pray. Turning on each other is not the answer.
There is just too much going on in the world (in our country) to even try to fully write about right now.
There is hate, there is violence, there is illness, there is financial worry, and so much more. Aside of these recent global and local battles there has always been abuse. Abuse of animals and abuse of people. I’m afraid with all of the stresses these days this has most likely heightened. So many different challenges people are going through. Just this past week I have heard of two people committing suicide (too close to home). This is one thing that deeply breaks my heart. Thinking that someone felt that much despair that they saw no way out and chose to end their life is such an absolute heartbreaking thing.
A world with no more hate For that day we can hardly wait Until then love is what we’ll portray And on our knees we’ll continue to pray
This has been a hard and strange year and Christmas was strange this year too. Our family didn’t get together because we are trying to remain safe during the pandemic. We celebrated by opening gifts from one another on Skype. It was nice but doesn’t begin to compare to being together.
Christmas always comes & goes so quickly. The poem below I wrote a few years back. I wanted to share it again.
CHRISTMAS IS NEAR…
It’s the most wonderful time of the year People all around are so full of cheer Bells that are jingling all the way Songs a plenty about that special day Children thinking about all of the gifts Telling Santa what’s on their wish list Trees decorated so beautiful & bright That glow beautiful in the silent night
Going here & there travelers abound
Friends and family gathering all around
Candy canes and cookies galore
Mashed potatoes, gravy and so much more Stockings stuffed with treats for Fido So full they fall and land on the bible Everyone stops and remembers the reason That we celebrate this festive season It’s not about Santa and his sleigh full of toys But Jesus’s birth and to the world what joy! So from me and even my little scrooge too We wisha very Merry Christmas to you
It’s Sunday! Time to kick back and relax! But these days it may be harder to do that.
Anxiety is at an extremely high rate among individuals these days and can make people feel like they are standing on the edge of a cliff. I made the following image a few years ago but it sure is appropriate for 2020 with the additions of a pandemic, politics, and a whole lot more. Animals are great for anxiety. True little angels sent from heaven.
So without denying that there is a lot to feel concerned about right now, we still have to Continue reading →
Last Sunday I shared my first ever Word Search. I plan to create more. Maybe I’ll aim for one a month. We’ll see because truthfully they aren’t that easy to create and they’re very time consuming. This week I decided to share a puzzle that, when put together, is of a large group of seagulls I took a photo of last weekend.
Last weekend some of my family met at a park by the river knowing the weather was going to turn cold and it would be months before we could do that again. Because of the pandemic this had become our spot to visit over the simmer. Each time we were there we watched a number of eagles soar around us. I only had my cell phone with and was having no luck at getting any good pictures of them. So last weekend I brought my camera but this time they were hard to spot so I never did get a picture. I did, however, get a few pretty nice ones of other things. The one I am sharing today, the puzzle, is of a big group of seagulls.
One of the things I have always found very relaxing and enjoyable is a Word Search puzzle. I am pretty good and can get them done pretty quickly. There have even been times when myself and someone else competed to see who could find all the words first. I think I won every time. 🙂
Well I created my very first Word Search and I am sharing it today. It is not an online interactive one except for you may be able to do so with the PDF version. I have a link for that below. Otherwise you will need to print it out or save the image and use a drawing app or something. I suppose there is always the option of just finding the words while having the puzzle open on your screen and just not marking them.
