Sunday Pause (Paws): Beautiful Soul

It’s Sunday, time to kick back, relax, and remember.

I wanted to dedicate this post to remembering those who have passed. Death is never easy for those left behind. When you lose someone close to you, you are never the same. I shared the poem below shortly after my sister passed away last year. I thought it was fitting to share it again now. Her birthday is next week, so I have been thinking a lot about her lately.

Even when it’s not someone you personally know, but the loss of a super star, it can be devastating. The following are pictures I took when I visited Paisley Park after Prince passed away last year (April 21st, 2017). It was so much more sparse than what it had been when the news first got out that he was gone. By the time I went most of it had blown away, the flowers had died, and so on.  Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): A Spring Snow Storm

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back & relax!

Today I have a little story in the form of a poem. I hope you enjoy.

A turkey out for a stroll
When the weather takes a turn
Shelter found under a roof’s edge
Until something causes him concern

Footsteps coming towards him
A person with a camera in hand
Makes him start to move away
Wings flapping, I think I made him mad

A Day To Recognize Pets

Animals are such a blessing, a true gift from God. They bring so much joy, love, and comfort. So having a day to recognize these wonderful beings we call our “pets” is truly deserved.

Here is a short poem along with a picture of my sweet Cino to celebrate this special day.

A furry family member
Are you blessed to have one?
Do you have a special bond
That compares to none?

Sunday Pause (Paws): Rest Your Mind

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and take a deep breath in & out and turn off the mind.

Image may contain: text

A picture says a thousand words and isn’t this one absolutely true?! The dog pictured above is seeing what’s right in front of him and nothing else. The human, well, I can’t even name all of the things he is seeing (thinking about).

I am guilty of a racing mind. I have a really hard time relaxing. Sure, I can sit on the couch and watch a tv show, look through Facebook, visit with a friend, or write a poem. But to clear everything out of my head and just be…now that’s a challenge.

It takes work to stop everything going on in your mind and just look at what is in front of you. It is not easy! I challenge you to try it right now. Continue reading

The Paw Pact

What is the Paw Pact? It is this…

(image found on Facebook)

When I saw this Paw Pact image on Facebook I knew I would be making a post out of it. It is exactly how I feel. I do not feel animals are disposable and once you bring them in your home they become family and you don’t just get rid of family.

Animals are little angels. Just the other day a friend of mine put this on her Facebook Page: “Just because my children Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): For Girl Time

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and enjoy some silly fun.

I just had my third annual “Girl’s Day” last weekend and it was a blast.

(Cino was there too)

Version 2

Even though it is a lot of work entertaining, it is worth it. These are memories in the making. Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): Photography

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and capture life’s great moments.

One of my friends is a photographer. I’ve seen what great work she does and have seen many of her photos of people with their pets. So I thought maybe she could take some pictures of Cino & I. I had it pictured in my head how great it would look. She found the perfect basket for Cino to sit in and a blanket to put under it that would look good with her coloring. We were set.

We decided to get together last Sunday and do the photo shoot along with just hanging out and visiting since it had been a while for us. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

I knew Cino most likely wouldn’t cooperate and I was right. Continue reading

Sunday Pause (Paws): For Creativeness

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and maybe get creative.

This is something I like to do in my leisure time. I like creating artwork pieces from photos and trying different crafts. Have any of you ever done the wine & paint nights? I have gone to 2 classes. Here are my masterpieces.
