It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day (maybe).
I personally don’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. I do, however, enjoy seeing the children where I work make leprechaun traps and go on a treasure hunt looking for them and their gold. 🙂
I decided to focus on the three leaf clover and what it is said to represent: faith, hope, & love.
It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and enjoy a poetry reading by me.
If you have been following me for a while you most likely know that I am always trying new things such as photography, editing, poetry and now the newest…making videos/reading aloud. With these new things I still always have animal advocacy in mind. I’m sure I have a lot to learn yet but through some online research about poetry I found that it is important to read it aloud. The following was taken from dummies.com.
The music of poetry — that is, its sounds and rhythms — isn’t just for the eye and the mind, it’s meant to be given voice.
I never really thought about it but I get it because that is exactly what I have to do. To tell how the “flow” of a poem is going I have to read it out loud to myself as I am writing it.
Now reading them aloud while recording…that’s another thing and it’s not an easy task. Aside of the Dr. Seuss type of short story/rhyme I wrote, read aloud, and posted last Sunday (which is probably more geared towards children and I actually did read it to the children where I work this past week) this is only my second time recording myself. So although it may not be perfect I created the following video from a poem I wrote last year called “Butterfly Wings.”
I hope you enjoyed it. Comments welcomed and encouraged to help me learn & grow.
It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and listen to a story by me. 🙂
Yesterday was good old Dr. Seuss’s birthday! So I made my own online little rhyming book in honor of him.
This is my first attempt at making something like this where I use my voice and my own images. I found out I still have a lot to learn. The images don’t seem to view very clearly on all screens sizes. But never fear, I am sharing each story page first so you can see them clearly.
So presenting the short rhyming story…The Cat In The Hat (my version).
It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax and rap…yes I said rap! (Or just listen to a rap).
I wrote a poem not long ago My niece said it read like a rap She sees a new career in my future Ehhh…I probably wouldn’t get one clap 🙂
But I do have a video of someone who can rap that I wanted to share with you. If this doesn’t show that animals are gifts from God then I don’t know what does.
Grab some Kleenex, wipe your tears, and go give your gift from above a hug.
I recently created the image below to post on Facebook. Then in my “Facebook Memories” I was reminded of a poem I wrote last year. So I put the image and the poem together and walah…a blog post. 🙂
WHY I DO WHAT I DO
People often wonder Why I do what I do I say they wouldn’t be asking If they knew what I knew
Seen as “one of those” But do they know our case Animals are living, feeling beings Have you looked close into their face?
It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and let the artsy fartsy side come out.
Sometimes you just never know “what you want to be when you grow up.” I still really haven’t figured it out and I should be retiring in less than 20 years. A lot of my life I feel like I was just “surviving.” I always felt lost and unsure of myself. So I made some bad choices and went down the wrong path for a while. Basically I was just trying to pay the bills, fit in, and trying to be happy. But it was when I started paying attention to God that things started changing…I started changing. I’m still a “work in progress” and will be all of my days. No one is perfect. But I’m not just trying to survive anymore. I’m trying to “live”…really truly “live.” Because it isn’t just about what we “do” to pay the bills, it’s who we are and how we live.
I still haven’t figured out “what I want to be” to pay the bills but I have discovered that I enjoy being creative. My love for animals is nothing new. I have loved them all of my life and have always tried to advocate for them. With discovering that I like being creative I can take my love for animals and my love for creating and combine them. 🙂
This week I took a photo of Cino and started playing around with it and turning it into artwork.
It’s so fun playing with images
And turning them into artwork
Editing them on your own
Or using filters can be a perk
It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and take it easy.
I hope you all enjoyed the holiday season as much as I did. It was so great to see family come home all the way from Norway to spend it with us.
I LOVE the holiday season and am always a little sad when it is over. I have been off work for a few weeks and am going back tomorrow. Like I saw on a Facebook post…I have to go back to “adulting.” Ugh. It’s always so hard that first day.
Since I am trying to feel ready for that first day back and get in a little more “take it easy” time today’s post is a short one. I captured this picture of Cino during my time off when I was playing around with my new camera (still trying to figure it out). She’s doing exactly what I will be doing right after I post this…chillin’. 🙂
Take a midday nap With your pet on your lap Take it easy for one day Just enjoy your Sunday
It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and come up with new year resolutions…or not.
I‘ve never been one to make resolutions. I’ve actually never been one that got that excited about New Years in general. So we change one number on checks when we write the date…wait does anybody write checks anymore? So we’ll soon be another year older…wait unless you’re birthday is at the end of the year. So we’ll have another January, February, March, April…well you get the point.
I hope you enjoy the poem I wrote for this post.
NO RESOLUTIONS ARE NOT FOR ME
